Melbourne, a global study destination

-

MELBOURNE, Australia, has been welcoming Malaysian students in particular and overseas students in general since the 1950s.

Today, Melbourne is synonymous among students and parents as the first choice destination in Australia for further studies at all levels ranging from primary and secondary, to high school, pre-university, tafe, undergraduate and postgraduate studies.

Melbourne education institutions enjoy wide-reaching reputation providing world-class and cutting edge teaching and learning experience to students.

JM Education Counselling Centre (JMECC), being the leading Malaysian-owned and operated education agency, presents its inaugural Study in Melbourne education fair in Penang and Kuala Lumpur on March 8 (Friday) and March 10 (Sunday), respectively.

The venue in Penang is at the JMECC office while the Kuala Lumpur venue is at Gardens Hotel Mid Valley from 1pm to 5pm for both locations.

JMECC is assembling major Melbourne institutions at the event to enable interested students and parents to meet representatives from universities and colleges as well as their professional and multilingual counsellors.

The participating institutions are The University of Melbourne, Monash University, RMIT University, La Trobe University, Deakin University, Trinity College, Monash College, MIBT Navitas, La Trobe Melbourne Navitas and William Angliss Institute.

JMECC is also proud to receive the endorsement of the education services arm of the Victorian State Government.

The Victorian State Government Education Services Director for South-East Asia will be available at the exhibition in both the Penang and Kuala Lumpur venues to provide general information about studying and living in Melbourne and Victoria.

These universities offer wide-ranging courses, including medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, business, arts and design, architecture, building, engineering, science, agriculture, humanities, psychology, journalism, allied health sciences, teaching and education at both undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications.

All universities offer foundation pathway programmes for SPM/OLevel/SM2/Form 5 students at their respective campuses. Students do not need A-Levels or IB qualifications to qualify for a place.

Foundation pathway assures of entry into the relevant courses at the respective partner universities. Local pre-university students can still make the switch to Melbourne foundation programmes for April, July and September intakes subject to course availability.

In addition, most of the universities welcome credit transfer applications from local university students.

The success of the applications is dependent on results and matching syllabus and JMECC has successfully placed hundreds of credit transfer students from Malaysia in Melbourne universities, continuing into the second and final year of their studies.

Getting a Melbourne degree will greatly enhance one’s employability and competitiveness not only in Malaysia, but also throughout the world.

In addition to the traditional academic programmes, William Angliss Institute offers technical and further education in the fields of food, tourism and hospitality.

Students have the option of pursuing certificate, diploma or degree at the institute.

Bring along your transcript, qualifications and relevant certificates on the day for assessment and on-thespot applications.

JMECC has seven offices throughout Malaysia and they are located in Subang Jaya, Petaling Jaya, Penang, Ipoh, Johor Baru, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu.

JMECC provides counselling services, visa and accommodation assistance and airport pick-up arrangement.

Visit www.jmecc.com or call 03-5633 4732 (Kuala Lumpur) or 04-228 8376 for details. You are also welcome to visit the offices before the fair for priority applications and follow-up cases.
