Counter the effects of ageing
NEW results from an open clinical study conducted for over a year show that with daily use of the formula containing Biomarine complex and the patented LycoPhence complex, signs of ageing are measurably improved by up to 48% with an impressive +122% increase in the dermal density of the skin.
The study, carried out in Brazil, was led by the independent cosmetic dermatologist Dr Adilson Costa, head of the Dermatology Department, Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas, Sao Paolo. It followed 42 women aged 35 to 60 who took a daily dose of the anti-ageing skin supplement over a course of 12 months.
The latest results from this open study confirmed that daily usage of the formula containing Biomarine complex and the patented LycoPhence complex significantly increased levels of collagen and elastin in the dermal layer. Using biometric, ultrasound and selfassessment analyses, statistically significant improvements were found against a number of key criteria: Ultrasound measurement > Dermal density: +122% Self-assessment measures > Fine lines: -30% > Radiance: +42% > Smoothness: +42% > Overall appearance: +48% Conclusions after 360 days Long-term use of the formula containing Biomarine complex and the patented LycoPhence complex shows it to be a good and effective approach to treat signs of ageing both on the skin’s surface and within the dermal layer.
The volunteers showed ongoing improvement in the signs of photo-aged or ageing skin, assessed both objectively and subjectively. Overall, there was continued measurable increase in the thickness of the dermal layer, assessed by ultrasound, as well as a reduction of fine lines.
Using ultrasound to analyse dermal density, results showed a gradual continuous increase on the face and skin on the upper arm (non-photo damaged areas) during the study period.
Overall, clear and significant improvement in the signs of skin ageing through the daily use of the formula containing Biomarine complex and the patented LycoPhence complex was observed. These new results build on Dr Costa’s original 120-day study which was published this year.
The initial 120-day study also demonstrated a significant increase in collagen and elastic fibres in the dermal layer (skin biopsy), supporting a real beneficial change in skin structure.
There was also significant improvement in skin hydration levels (+25%) (corneometry) and an increased acidification of the skin (+10%) (pH-metry).
