SAVOUR the ex­pe­ri­ence of Mediter­ranean din­ing at Blu Med, nes­tled amid the bustling cen­tre of Boule­vard Mid Val­ley. Opened in Fe­bru­ary this year, the restau­rant spe­cialises in Ital­ian and Span­ish cui­sine and is per­fect for both ca­sual and for­mal din­ing.

Its chef, who has an ex­ten­sive ex­pe­ri­ence un­der his belt, serves up au­then­tic Ital­ian flavours for you to en­joy.

Its menu en­com­passes a va­ri­ety of Tapas, pasta, pizza, mains, starters and desserts and has re­cently been re­vamped.

A spe­cialty here is spaghetti, par­tic­u­larly its sig­na­ture Spaghetti Squid Ink. Light and in­fused with the flavour of fresh seafood, this tomato-based pasta dish is truly a delight on the taste bud.

An­other de­light­ful pasta dish is the rich and creamy Lin­guine Car­bonara.

The Tapas menu in­cludes de­lights such as Edamame Car­toc­cio, which fea­tures Edamame beans cooked in the tra­di­tional Ital­ian style of cook­ing – wrapped in pa­per and baked to re­tain the flavour of the beans. Once you start on one, you can­not stop – it is that ad­dic­tive.

A unique Tapas is the re­fresh­ing Wa­ter­melon with Feta Cheese and Black Olive, which fea­tures the per­fect mix of sweet, salty and tangy flavours to tease the palate. An­other de­light­ful op­tion is the Eg­g­plant Si­cil­iana.

For pizza en­thu­si­asts, a must-try is the Smoked Salmon Pizza with Salad, May­on­naise and Ca­pers, which is del­i­cately flavoured with the smoked salmon.

The Braised Eel is an­other gem on the menu – ten­der, flavour­ful eel served on a bed of wild rice.

To end your meal on a sweet, sa­ti­at­ing note, look out for the Rare Cheese Cake. This non-baked lovely dessert is light in tex­ture. Al­ter­na­tively, the Cho­co­late Ba­nana Par­fait would also be a good choice.

Blu Med also of­fers an ex­ten­sive drinks menu, both al­co­holic and non-al­co­holic.

The sig­na­ture drink here is San­gria, so do make sure you give it a try.

An in­ter­est­ing part of the menu is the food and wine pair­ing tips that are pro­vided to help din­ers make the best pour­ing de­ci­sion to en­hance their meal.

Cur­rently, there is a New World Wine Promo fea­tur­ing wines from Chile at RM80 per bot­tle un­til the end of Jan­uary. This pro­mo­tion fea­tures wines from dif­fer­ent re­gions in a three-month ro­ta­tion.

Dur­ing Happy Hour, which is on daily from 3pm to 8pm, and on Thurs­day, from noon to clos­ing time, you can en­joy a glass of wine for only RM11 per glass.

An­other Happy Hour pro­mo­tion cur­rently on is, when you or­der one carafe of San­gria, you will be en­ti­tled to one free Tapas.

Blue Med also of­fers Breakfast, Teatime, Lunch and Happy Hour menus. To of­fer din­ers value for money, set lunch is avail­able, which changes fre­quently to of­fer more va­ri­ety. On the af­ter­noon tea menu, you can get the Dessert Set — one dessert with your choice of cof­fee or tea.

From Dec 15, you can en­joy all Tapas at only RM8. Up to 15 choices are avail­able.

Also, take delight in the Fi­esta Meal pro­mo­tion from now un­til Feb 2 (ex­clud­ing Dec 16 to 25) fea­tur­ing set menus for four peo­ple, in­deed of­fer­ing great value for money.

There will also be a spe­cial Christ­mas menu, so do keep a look­out for it.

If you are look­ing to hold an event, there is space avail­able up­stairs, of­fer­ing fine din­ing feel.

Blu Med re­cently won two awards in MIGF 2013 for Most Out­stand­ing Soup and Most Out­stand­ing Dessert. The award-win­ning dessert, cho­co­late fon­dant will soon be added to the menu for din­ers to en­joy.
