SAVOUR the experience of Mediterranean dining at Blu Med, nestled amid the bustling centre of Boulevard Mid Valley. Opened in February this year, the restaurant specialises in Italian and Spanish cuisine and is perfect for both casual and formal dining.

Its menu encompasses a variety of Tapas, pasta, pizza, mains, starters and desserts and has recently been revamped.
A specialty here is spaghetti, particularly its signature Spaghetti Squid Ink. Light and infused with the flavour of fresh seafood, this tomato-based pasta dish is truly a delight on the taste bud.
Another delightful pasta dish is the rich and creamy Linguine Carbonara.
The Tapas menu includes delights such as Edamame Cartoccio, which features Edamame beans cooked in the traditional Italian style of cooking – wrapped in paper and baked to retain the flavour of the beans. Once you start on one, you cannot stop – it is that addictive.
A unique Tapas is the refreshing Watermelon with Feta Cheese and Black Olive, which features the perfect mix of sweet, salty and tangy flavours to tease the palate. Another delightful option is the Eggplant Siciliana.
For pizza enthusiasts, a must-try is the Smoked Salmon Pizza with Salad, Mayonnaise and Capers, which is delicately flavoured with the smoked salmon.
The Braised Eel is another gem on the menu – tender, flavourful eel served on a bed of wild rice.
To end your meal on a sweet, satiating note, look out for the Rare Cheese Cake. This non-baked lovely dessert is light in texture. Alternatively, the Chocolate Banana Parfait would also be a good choice.
Blu Med also offers an extensive drinks menu, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
The signature drink here is Sangria, so do make sure you give it a try.
An interesting part of the menu is the food and wine pairing tips that are provided to help diners make the best pouring decision to enhance their meal.
Currently, there is a New World Wine Promo featuring wines from Chile at RM80 per bottle until the end of January. This promotion features wines from different regions in a three-month rotation.
During Happy Hour, which is on daily from 3pm to 8pm, and on Thursday, from noon to closing time, you can enjoy a glass of wine for only RM11 per glass.
Another Happy Hour promotion currently on is, when you order one carafe of Sangria, you will be entitled to one free Tapas.
Blue Med also offers Breakfast, Teatime, Lunch and Happy Hour menus. To offer diners value for money, set lunch is available, which changes frequently to offer more variety. On the afternoon tea menu, you can get the Dessert Set — one dessert with your choice of coffee or tea.
From Dec 15, you can enjoy all Tapas at only RM8. Up to 15 choices are available.
Also, take delight in the Fiesta Meal promotion from now until Feb 2 (excluding Dec 16 to 25) featuring set menus for four people, indeed offering great value for money.
There will also be a special Christmas menu, so do keep a lookout for it.
If you are looking to hold an event, there is space available upstairs, offering fine dining feel.
Blu Med recently won two awards in MIGF 2013 for Most Outstanding Soup and Most Outstanding Dessert. The award-winning dessert, chocolate fondant will soon be added to the menu for diners to enjoy.
