TAR of­fers a holis­tic ex­pe­ri­ence

tUNKU Ab­dul Rah­man Univer­sity Col­lege (TAR Univer­sity Col­lege) is an in­sti­tu­tion that ex­em­pli­fies holis­tic ed­u­ca­tion.

Backed by more than 44 years of aca­demic ex­cel­lence, it is the choice among school-leavers for its qual­ity and af­ford­able ed­u­ca­tion.

Last year was a spe­cial year as the in­sti­tu­tion cel­e­brated its up­grad­ing from a col­lege to univer­sity col­lege.

This up­grad­ing en­ables it to of­fer Bach­e­lor De­gree pro­grammes, ex­pand­ing its role in de­vel­op­ing hu­man cap­i­tal for the coun­try and mov­ing it to­wards be­com­ing a high in­come na­tion.

TAR Univer­sity Col­lege em­pha­sises the trans­fer of the lat­est in­dus­try knowl­edge to the class­room through close col­lab­o­ra­tion with in­dus­try lead­ers.

It pre­pares stu­dents with the nec­es­sary skills to meet the needs of the mar­ket.

The un­der­grad­u­ate de­gree pro­grammes of­fered at TAR Univer­sity Col­lege con­tinue to be in­dus­try-driven and is of high aca­demic stan­dards to pre­serve the qual­ity of the pro­grammes.

The in­sti­tu­tion has the fa­cil­i­ties and teach­ing ca­pa­bil­ity to con­duct the Bach­e­lor De­gree pro­grammes of a higher level com­pared to the Ad­vanced Diploma. Due to that, Ad­vanced Diploma pro­grammes will be phased out.

SPM hold­ers may progress to Bach­e­lor De­gree pro­grammes via the univer­sity col­lege’s Foun­da­tion or Diploma pro­grammes.

STPM, A-Lev­els, UEC or equiv­a­lent hold­ers are el­i­gi­ble to pro­ceed di­rectly to Year One, sub­ject to meet­ing the gen­eral en­try re­quire­ments.

The Bach­e­lor De­gree pro­grammes are of­fered by four fac­ul­ties:

> Fac­ulty of Ap­plied Sciences and Com­put­ing

> Fac­ulty of Ac­coun­tancy, Fi­nance and Busi­ness

> Fac­ulty of Engineering and Built En­vi­ron­ment

> Fac­ulty of So­cial Sci­ence, Arts and Hu­man­i­ties

This cov­ers Ac­count­ing, Busi­ness, Cor­po­rate Ad­min­is­tra­tion, Eco­nom­ics, Fi­nance, Engineering, Built En­vi­ron­ment, Mi­cro­elec­tron­ics, Com­puter Sci­ence, ICT, Ap­plied Sciences, Cre­ative Arts, Hos­pi­tal­ity Man­age­ment, Mass Com­mu­ni­ca­tion and So­cial Sci­ence.

Since 1969, TAR Univer­sity Col­lege has gar­nered a list of in­sti­tu­tional awards and ac­co­lades from in­dus­try lead­ers and gov­ern­men­tal or­gan­i­sa­tions.

Some of th­ese in­clude the In­dus­try Cen­tre of Ex­cel­lence by the Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion, recog­ni­tion as the ACCA Plat­inum Ap­proved Learn­ing Part­ner in Malaysia, and the only in­sti­tu­tion in the world ap­proved by ACCA to run the In­ter­nally As­sessed ACCA Fun­da­men­tals (Skills Mod­ule) pro­gramme for all the nine ACCA Fun­da­men­tals pa­pers.

The Bach­e­lor De­gree pro­grammes are af­ford­ably of­fered in the range of RM24,100 to RM26,700 for a three-year Bach­e­lor De­gree pro­gramme and RM29,100 to RM32,800 for a four-year pro­gramme.

To al­low greater ac­cess to qual­ity ed­u­ca­tion, TAR Univer­sity Col­lege also of­fers var­i­ous fi­nan­cial aids to de­serv­ing stu­dents.

Since 2007, the TAR Univer­sity Col­lege Merit Schol­ar­ship has ben­e­fited close to 15,000 stu­dents. As of last year, 3,049 stu­dents re­ceived the merit schol­ar­ship amount­ing to RM13mil.
