CHOOSING a university is one of the most important decisions some people will ever make.

In life, as in education, the earlier that decision is made the stronger the foundation will be to pursue your future opportunities.

Recognising that, Heriot-Watt University Malaysia (HWUM) offers the Foundation in Science – a tailored one-year course of academic science, technology and engineering subjects that will give students the opportunity to progress to an internationally recognised degree at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia.

The Foundation programme at HWUM is your entry point to higher education and is designed to prepare you for undergraduate study at the university.

It combines English courses, academic subjects and study skills to ensure you have the right tools to succeed in your chosen degree.

The focused programme will introduce students to independent learning and university-style teaching at degree level.

The HWUM Foundation programme is a one-year course to prepare students for its BEng or BSc Honours programmes.

Currently, HWUM offers undergraduate study in Actuarial Science, Architectural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Project Management, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Psychology with Management and Quantity Surveying with further plans to expand to further Business, Management and Finance degrees.
