THE sandy coastline of Cherating in Kuantan, Pahang will host its first music festival in April.

The Kuantan Music Festival, featuring an eclectic mix of acoustic, blues, jazz and world music, will be held at Holiday Villa Beach Resort & Spa Cherating on April 4 and 5, 2014.

Festival directors Atod Hamdan and Erica Gilbert believe the location will be a hit with beach lovers and music enthusiasts.

“Imagine sea breeze gently blowing through the gardens, sitting under the stars and the performances begin. It will be two nights of magic not to be forgotten,” said Atod in a press release.

Gilbert added: “It’s also very easy to get to now. It’s just 2 hours and 30 minutes away from (capital city) Kuala Lumpur.”

The event will see performances by T Bone Ska from Thailand, TheArtofFusion from Germany and Indonesia’s Rio Sidek Quartet.

Local acts like Ito & Purple Haze, AkashA, Amir Yussof Acoustic Project, Paladin, Faan and more are also part of the diverse musical line-up.

Festivalgoers also get the chance to check out a showcase featuring aspiring and young musicians at the Fringe Stage.

There will also be various workshops throughout the day to keep festivalgoers occupied. Tickets are priced from RM78 and are available for purchase at www.ticketpro.com.
