aT In­fra­struc­ture Univer­sity Kuala Lumpur (IUKL), it be­lieves that ed­u­ca­tion should be made avail­able to ev­ery­one. There­fore, it is IUKL’s mis­sion to pro­vide qual­ity, recog­nised and af­ford­able ed­u­ca­tion for all fresh school-leavers.

There is a va­ri­ety of fi­nan­cial as­sis­tance avail­able to stu­dents at IUKL. IUKL scholarships are of­fered to stu­dents who score at least 5As in the SPM or CGPA 3.000 in the STPM, and for those who grad­u­ate with a di­ploma or foun­da­tion, it re­quires a CGPA of at least 3.500 to be el­i­gi­ble for the scholarships.

In ad­di­tion to the scholarships, the IUKL Tu­ition Fee Waiver Scheme is of­fered to all its ex­ist­ing stu­dents ev­ery se­mes­ter. Stu­dents need to score a CGPA of at least 3.500 each se­mes­ter.

If you have a CGPA of 3.500 to 3.750, you will re­ceive a 30% tu­ition fee waiver for your next se­mes­ter. If you man­age to score a CGPA of 3.571 to 4.000, a 60% tu­ition fee waiver awaits.

This is part of IUKL’s ini­tia­tive to en­cour­age stu­dents to con­cen­trate and ex­cel in their stud­ies, at the same time re­duc­ing the bur­den of stu­dents and par­ents.

The fees struc­ture at IUKL is also de­signed to ease the bur­den of stu­dents. The tu­ition fees per se­mes­ter can be paid by flex­i­ble in­stal­ment. Ed­u­ca­tion loans such as PTPTN, MARA and fi­nan­cial as­sis­tance from the State Foun­da­tion are also avail­able.

Es­tab­lished over 15 years ago, IUKL is rated as an Ex­cel­lence Univer­sity (Tier 5) in SE­TARA’11 by the Malaysian Qual­i­fi­ca­tions Agency (MQA). It is the first in­sti­tu­tion in Malaysia to im­ple­ment in­fra­struc­ture-ori­ented cur­ricu­lum in the ar­eas of study of­fered. IUKL be­lieves that in­fra­struc­ture is not re­stricted to build­ings, con­struc­tion and tech­nolo­gies, but also in­cludes soft in­fra­struc­ture such as com­mu­ni­ca­tion, lan­guage skills, com­merce and in­for­ma­tion tech­nol­ogy.

IUKL of­fers pro­grammes that are sought-af­ter by the in­dus­try such as En­gi­neer­ing, Ar­chi­tec­ture, Con­struc­tion Man­age­ment, Quan­tity Sur­vey­ing, Busi­ness, Ac­count­ing, In­for­ma­tion Tech­nol­ogy, Cor­po­rate Com­mu­ni­ca­tions, English Lan­guage Stud­ies and Biotech­nol­ogy.

Equipped with other pro­grammes such as Wa­ter and Waste­water, Geo­mat­ics, Land­scape Ar­chi­tec­ture, Property Man­age­ment, In­for­ma­tion Sys­tems, Multimedia, Soft­ware En­gi­neer­ing, Agri­cul­ture and Sports Man­age­ment, IUKL pro­vides a learn­ing space for stu­dents to get ready for a bright fu­ture. This is ev­i­denced by the 90% em­ploy­ment rate of IUKL stu­dents who grad­u­ate within six months.

Pro­grammes of­fered at IUKL are ap­proved by the Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion and Malaysian Qual­i­fi­ca­tions Agency (MQA), and are recog­nised and ac­cred­ited by pro­fes­sional bod­ies both in Malaysia and abroad, in­clud­ing the Board of En­gi­neers Malaysia (BEM), Wash­ing­ton Ac­cord, the Board of Ar­chi­tects Malaysia (LAM), the Royal In­sti­tu­tion of Sur­vey­ors Malaysia (RISM), ACCA, CIMA and CPA Aus­tralia.

Routes con­nect­ing in­ter­na­tional ed­u­ca­tion is also pro­vided through the co­op­er­a­tion be­tween IUKL and sev­eral in­ter­na­tional uni­ver­si­ties in the United King­dom, the US, Aus­tralia, New Zealand, Ire­land, China, The Nether­lands and Ger­many.

IUKL stu­dent com­mu­nity is a com­bi­na­tion of lo­cal and in­ter­na­tional stu­dents from 50 coun­tries. Lab­o­ra­to­ries, learn­ing and re­search fa­cil­i­ties at IUKL are well-equipped and up-to-date.

For stu­dents who live far from Kuala Lumpur, hos­tels are avail­able on cam­pus. All these are sit­u­ated on a 100-acre (40.5ha) green cam­pus. Ex­tracur­ric­u­lar ac­tiv­i­ties such as sports, lan­guage skills, en­trepreneur­ship char­i­ta­ble ac­tiv­i­ties, art and cul­ture will also be cov­ered.

For­merly known as Kuala Lumpur In­fra­struc­ture Univer­sity Col­lege (KLIUC), IUKL is a sub­sidiary of Pro­tasco Ber­had, a com­pany which is listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia. The univer­sity was up­graded to a fullfledged univer­sity in Septem­ber 2012. With its new sta­tus, IUKL now of­fers its own Foun­da­tion, Di­ploma, De­gree, Mas­ter’s and PhD pro­grammes.
