VICTORY was certainly sweet for Mohd Redzuan Mohd Ali as he was declared the winner in the Best Category – Tokyo City in the recently concluded KL Street Art Festival 2013 (KLSAF 2013), the first legal street art festival .
The competition was organised by 1Shamelin Shopping Mall KL in collaboration with Malaysian Youth Community (MYC). It aimed to provide a platform for budding artists to exhibit their work and to showcase their skills. Winners were chosen based on originality, creativity and effectiveness.
More than 100 participants took part in this competition. Each contestant was given one shop where they were to paint on the store shutter freely based on a theme that represented Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo and Seoul.
Mohd Redzuan is currently pursuing a Diploma in Graphic Design at the Faculty of Information Sciences & Engineering (FISE), Management & Science University (MSU).
“I would like to thank MSU, particularly my lecturers. They make lessons very lively and further stimulated my interest in creative arts,” said Mohd Redzuan. He also expressed his appreciation to his parents for their constant support.
