Value of studying in australia
AUG Global Network and ET Education Services, together with Australian Education Assessment Services ( AEAS), will hold the Australian schools exhibitions this month in Penang and Kuala Lumpur.
The Kuala Lumpur event has been held annually for over 20 years and has attracted some of the most prestigious schools in Australia. The events will be held in: > Penang on June 27 ( Saturday), at G Hotel Kelawai, from 2pm to 6pm
> Kuala Lumpur on June 28 ( Sunday), at One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya, from 2pm to 6pm
Admission to both events is free.
The events offer the opportunity to meet school principals or admissions managers and to discuss education options with experienced education industry counsellors from AUG ( Penang and Kuala Lumpur) and ET Education Services ( Kuala Lumpur).
ET Education Services managing director Matthew Gan has assisted thousands of students to enrol in Australian schools over 25 years in the industry.
He says, “Events like these are really the best way for students to understand the wide range of education options available in Australia. Speaking to school representatives face to face gives you the best sense of what each school offers. It trumps an Internet search or even an in- depth discussion with an education counsellor.”
With direct flights from Malaysia to major Australia cities and only six to eight hours’ flight time to the east coast of Australia, it’s clear why Australia continues to be the “local” international education destination of choice for Malaysian students.
AEAS managing director Tracey O’Halloran says, “AEAS has been working with Malaysian students enrolling in Australian schools for nearly 30 years. Our research shows parents are choosing Australia because it offers quality education, a safe studying environment and has a truly multi- cultural society. Australia has been a traditional international education destination for Malaysian students for years now.
“Many parents who completed high school and university studies in Australia are now sending their children to study, initially at school and then later at one of the many high- quality universities in Australia – it’s obvious Malaysian parents see the value of studying in Australia.”
“Although the number of international schools in Malaysia is increasing, studying abroad still offers more advantages,” says AUG Global Network marketing and recruitment director James Kon.
“Many families are focused on improving English language skills through English medium instruction and that’s great, but studying abroad offers more than just improved English skills. We find that students who study abroad are more confident, more focused and more independent.
“They also have a global outlook and are comfortable living in an international setting. Future employers will be looking for global citizens, and skills developed while studying abroad will be invaluable in the future job market.”
The Australian Schools Exhibitions 2015 showcases 15 schools from New South Wales, South Australia, Queensland and Victoria and presents the country’s best education offerings in co- education, boys- only and girls- only schools.
These schools offer day, boarding or homestay accommodation and a variety of curriculum options ranging from high school certificates, the International Baccalaureate ( IB) Diploma programme to Foundation studies.
