ACCOUNTANCY has always been regarded as a professional and stable career. If you’re planning to make headway as a professional accountant, the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants ( ACCA) should be your springboard.

ACCA, the global body for professional accountants with 170,000 members and 436,000 students in 180 countries, has over a hundred years of tradition in providing internationally recognised accounting and finance qualifications, complemented by modern thinking and backed by diverse and global memberships.

“Pursuing an accounting career has always been my ambition since I was young. However, I made up my mind that I was not going to pursue any ordinary accountancy qualification, but rather a globally recognised professional accountancy qualification. ACCA suited these characteristics,” said Daphne A/ P Saesoorajoo, an ACCA Affiliate at KDU College’s Professional Accountancy Centre ( PAC).

“Studying ACCA was a wise decision as it prepared and mentally stimulated me in various aspects,” Daphne continued.

The PAC at KDU College was set up in 2008, offering the Certified Accounting Technician ( CAT) and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants ( ACCA) courses. Within a year, it was awarded the Gold status and now, Platinum status. It is the only Platinum status ACCA tuition provider in the Damansara area.

Aspiring accountants can also opt to obtain their ACCA qualifi-

cation concurrently while studying for KDU’s Bachelor of Accounting ( Hons) programme, which enables you to seamlessly continue the journey towards an internationally recognised professional qualification in a most sensible manner.

PAC students are also encouraged to join the PAC Club to learn more about planning, facilitating, managing and leading events or activities. This helps to not only build rapport and camaraderie among students, but also equips them with skills to be better prepared for the rigorous demands of the workforce.
