The smoky eye is irresistibly sexy but not that easy to do. An American beauty brand shows you how.
WHO doesn’t love a well- drawn smoky eye? It’s the one look that immediately makes you look sensually appealing.
The perfect smoky eye is really more than a heap of dark eyeshadow and a badass attitude.

The Naked Smoky palette offers 12 shades; nine are new colours and three are popular callbacks, which are the most requested colours from previous palettes.
It comes in different finishes from matt, shimmer to sparkles that will bring you from day to night.
Each shade features the brand’s Pigment Infusion System, the proprietary blend of ingredients that gives every shade its velvety texture, rich colour, staying power and blendability.
The Naked Smoky is housed in a sumptuous casing that is so stunning that you can’t take your eyes off it!
The casing features a cool floating smoke effect, with its name in gunmetal foil. To add to the mysterious vibe, the shadow pans are set in a smoky transparent base and comes with a full- size mirror.
“I was inspired by the smoky glass coffee tables from the 70s, hence the clear case and smoky pattern on the top to recreate the cocktail table vibe,” says Wende Zomnir, founding partner and chief creative officer of Urban Decay Cosmetics in a press statement.
“In the Naked Smoky palette, my favourite is a dark purple- black called Smolder, which I like to add to any smoky eye that I do. It adds extra dimension without making it look too heavy,” says Zomnir.
The palette comes with a double- ended brush, with a crease brush on one side for blending and the other side to smudge.
“We have included a tutorial in the box on how to create four different looks using the colours in the palette, as it’s got so much variety,” adds Zomnir.
“A neutral eyeshadow palette is actually the easiest for a beginner to work with. It’s not intimidating and it’s the building block to creating a classic sculpted eye,” says Amanda Rodriguez, product development artistry manager for Urban Decay Cosmetics.
“For a basic step in using neutral eyeshadow for an everyday look, apply a light shade all over lids, use a darker shade to contour and add an accent shimmery eyeshadow in the middle to make it pop,” says Rodriguez.
The Fall 2015 collection also includes the Matte Revolution Lipsticks, Brow Beater, Brow Tamer and a new Eyeshadow Primer Potions.
Zomnir points out that the matte formula for the Matte Revolution Lipsticks is soft, creamy and comfortable, and she calls it the ‘ comfort matte’ formula.
“One of my favourite shades is After Dark, a combination of two shades: Venom and Jilted, blended and turned into a matte shade. It goes really well with bare nude eyes or soft smoky eyes,” she concludes.
