Call Of Duty: Black Ops III

-

It’s a given that Activision will release a new Call Of Duty ( COD) title every year.

Black Ops III continues the story from the last two games, jumping ahead from the 2025 setting of the last title to 2065 where countries are using “directed energy air defence systems” to protect the skies from drone attacks.

According to John Rafacz, director of communications at developer Treyarch, fans of the franchise can look forward to futuristic military augmentation technology.

Not only will you see bipedal robots, but also humans with augmentation in the form of prosthetics which perform better than their original limbs.

A Direct Neural Interface ( DNI) controls the robots and cyber augmentations, and also helps soldiers stay connected to each other.

With this future tech on tap, players can expect the gameplay to reach a new level, as they will be able to jump, fly and climb faster and further than any normal human.

One big change in the single- player campaign is that it will no longer have

a “follow the leader” system that’s used in past COD titles. Instead Treyarch will drop players in open area battles which will let them approach each mission in a variety of ways.

Rafacz says the campaign will be about the same length as previous titles, taking about five to six hours to complete.

Black Ops III will also feature a new zombie mode called Shadows Of Evil, a 1940s film noir- inspired horror experience.

While it’s still mostly a survival shooter, the new mode now has a deeper story and features voice acting from famous actors, including Ron Perlman, Jeff Goldblum, Heather Graham and Neal McDonough.

The main draw of COD is the multiplayer and Black Ops III will have a number of new features, including a chain- based movement system which will allow players to link moves such as unlimited sprint and wall running to be more lethal.

There’s also extensive weapon customisation where players can change the look of their weapons with up to 64 layers of colours and patterns.

Black Ops III is due to be released

in November.
