Star Wars Battle Pod

-

Not to be confused with the upcoming

Battlefront, this title is a single- player arcade shooter from Namco Bandai that puts you in the cockpit of various ships from the Star

Wars universe. This arcade shooter was announced in late 2014, but our time with it was so much fun we just had to write about it.

Controls for the game are simple – you get airplane style levers and joysticks with your left hand controlling the throttle and your right hand the navigation and blasters.

What makes the game immersive is not the interior which looks like what you’d find in an X- Wing, but the projection system which produces an almost 180° display that wraps around the user.

While it isn’t in stereoscopic 3D, the wraparound screen makes you feel like you are actually piloting an X- Wing as you will have to turn your head to follow the action.

And the action was great fun – in the battle of Hoth level we had to shoot down TIE fighters while flying between the legs of an AT- AT.

Namco Bandai said even home users can purchase it if they are willing to be set back by a whopping US$ 35,000 ( RM154,000)! We really wish someone would bring the machine here.

Ace Attorney 6

One of the games on our radar at TGS was the latest Ace Attorney title for the Nintendo 3DS. We had no trouble finding the booth as it recreated a courtroom from a fictitious Asian country from the game.

There was a game demo on the show floor but we didn’t get a chance to play because the queue was terribly long.

The game is expected to feature series favourites Phoenix Wright, Apollo Justice and Miles Edgeworth along with the usual cast of supporting characters.

According to Capcom’s Ace Attorney official Twitter account, the game will be translated into English for release in the United States and other countries.

That’s good news considering that it’ll be the 15th anniversary of the series in 2016.

New Everybody’s Golf

While the game isn’t as wellknown in this part of the world, a version of Everybody’s Golf has been released since 1997 on every new Sony console.

Now in its seventh iteration and renamed New Everybody’s Golf, the game promises to be a radical departure from the series.

Believe it or not – it’s no longer just about golf anymore, as players can engage in a variety of pursuits from racing golf carts to fishing in the ponds in and around the golf courses.

While it’s probably not a game for all players, New Everybody’s

Golf actually looks kind of fun and Sony promises that it will go through continuous evolution with new golf courses and content.

Unfortunately, there is no PlayStation Move support for the game.
