BHPetrol Dash Tabuan Racing debuts
BHPetrol has partnered with motorcycle club Tabuan Racing to form a racing team that will debut in this season’s National Cub Prix Championship.
“This collaboration is in line with our objectives to enhance the image of BHPetrol among motorcycle owners. Apart from promoting the BHPetrol Dash range of motorcycle lubricants, we want to create a platform for local talents to thrive in the motorcycle racing scene,” said BHPetrol general manager of commercial industry and lubricants business Azizul Azily Ahmad.
The racing series will start on March 12 to 13 at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang, Selangor.
This will be followed by eight more rounds in Penang, Kelantan and Terengganu before the final round on Nov 19 and 20 in Taiping, Perak.
BHPetrol’s sponsorship is in the form of BHPetrol Dash 800 fully synthetic engine oil, fuel and cash.
BHPetrol deputy general manager of lubricants Soh Lip Peng said BHPetrol Dash motorcycle lubricants provided value and quality, and featured additives sourced from the US.
Team riders include Norafizah Siti Muhamad Rafiq, 21, who is also known as Fifie.
The Johorean lass has an impressive resume that includes MSS Overall Champion 2014 and 2015, for the 250cc open category.
Another rider is Izzat Rafiq, 18, who is from Cheras, Selangor and had raced in the Wira category for two seasons.
For the 2016 season, in the Wira category, BHPetrol Dash Tabuan Racing Team’s rider is Muhamad Arash Firdaus, 16, from SM Meru, Klang.
Team advisor Datuk Zolkapli Sulong said he expected nothing but the best from the riders.
“We are also the only racing team with a lady racer,” said Zolkapli.
