Quality studies

-

IN line with its mission to provide quality education in the Malaysian and international context, First City University College ( First City UC), formerly known as KBU International College, moves a notch higher with its recent recognition as a university college, continuing the proud tradition of providing the best learning experience for its students.

Established in 1990 with the mission of providing quality and affordable education to all, KBU grew from its initial six units of four- storey shoplots to a wellequipped purpose- built campus in 1995.

Today, with more than two decades of achievements and excellence, First City UC is expanding further with Phase II of its campus, which is slated to complete by November this year.

The new phase, which is next to the current premises, comprises a new academic block and en- suite air- conditioned student accommodation. A new IT Centre, library, food court and indoor sports facilities are some of the exciting facilities of this new phase.

Collaborative partnerships for programmes

First City UC currently conducts franchised 3+ 0 programmes of its reputable UK partners – Anglia Ruskin University ( ARU), Nottingham Trent University ( NTU) and Sheffield Hallam University ( SHU) – in design, engineering, computing, software engineering, business management, accounting and finance.

It also has collaborative partnerships with Hotel and Tourism Management Institute, Switzerland ( HTMi) for its hospitality and tourism management programmes, School Curriculum and Standards Authority by the Government of Western Australia, Carl Duisberg Centren in Germany and Cambridge International Examination in the UK for its foundation and pre- university courses.

First City UC’s five faculties and centres – Faculty of Design and Built Environment, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Computing, Centre for Foundation Studies and Centre for Language and Extension Service – provide students with the latest learning experience through the use of state- of- theart facilities apart from its dedication in engaging students through a fun learning approach by its teaching staff.
