Cel­e­bra­tion of cre­ativ­ity

AS the only cre­ative com­mu­ni­ca­tion spe­cial­ist col­lege in Malaysia, IACT Col­lege is the education hub for young and tal­ented Malaysians with a pas­sion for cre­ativ­ity and in­ge­nu­ity.

In its ef­fort to share the cre­ative spirit of the col­lege, a month- long cam­paign will be held an­nu­ally, be­gin­ning this year in March, to high­light dif­fer­ent ex­pres­sions of cre­ativ­ity.

It will in­volve col­lege stu­dents, lo­cal celebri­ties and cor­po­ra­tions who sup­port cre­ative in­dus­tries in con­junc­tion with IACT Col­lege Open Day.

IACT Col­lege Mar­ket­ing Com­mu­ni­ca­tion di­rec­tor and se­nior lec­turer Penny Low ex­plains, “Cre­ativ­ity is of­ten mis­un­der­stood. It’s time we show­case cre­ativ­ity and cel­e­brate its im­pact on our com­mu­nity.”

Her vi­sion for the month- long cam­paign is to in­spire tal­ented in­di­vid­u­als and en­cour­age them to ex­plore the dif­fer­ent cre­ative ca­reer op­tions.

Mass com­mu­ni­ca­tion stu­dent and Per­form­ing Arts ( PARTS) Club co- pres­i­dent, Christo­pher Se­bas­tian high­lights, “This is a great op­por­tu­nity and plat­form for us to show­case cre­ativ­ity. We ap­pre­ci­ate the fact that IACT Col­lege is cham­pi­oning such an event.”

IACT Col­lege stu­dents are groomed to show­case their cre­ativ­ity through stage per­for­mances, ex­hibit­ing their works and sell­ing of their own works of art, among other things.

He added, “We have also gen­er­ously pledged our pro­ceeds to ANGSANACare, which aims to sup­port and en­rich the lives of pae­di­atric pal­lia­tive pa­tients and fam­ily mem­bers.”

The Cre­ative Car­ni­val will be held on March 19 and 20, from 10am to 5pm to­gether with its Cre­ative Be­gins Here Open Day.

There will be a host of en­ter­tain­ing per­for­mances by GigFairy Artists ( a Malaysian on­line plat­form to book and pro­mote lo­cal artists) and IACT Col­lege and BAC Col­lege PARTS per­form­ers.

There will also be in­spir­ing talks by suc­cess­ful IACT alum­nus, mainly YouTube sen­sa­tions Jared Lee ( the man be­hind GRIM­FILM and Morn­ing­wood cafe) and Michelle Leong ( YouTu­ber and ac­tress for Jin­nyBoyTV), Ash­ley Chan ( res­i­dent pre­sen­ter for Cap­i­tal. FM) and Ong Yin Yin ( TV pre­sen­ter for Astro Chan­nels).

At­ten­dees of the car­ni­val can also join ex­cit­ing and en­gag­ing cre­ative sim­u­la­tions in the fields of Ad­ver­tis­ing, Broad­cast­ing, De­sign and Mass Com­mu­ni­ca­tion at IACT Col­lege’s brand new fa­cil­i­ties lo­cated at VSQ Tower, Pe­tal­ing Jaya.
