Celebration of creativity
AS the only creative communication specialist college in Malaysia, IACT College is the education hub for young and talented Malaysians with a passion for creativity and ingenuity.
In its effort to share the creative spirit of the college, a month- long campaign will be held annually, beginning this year in March, to highlight different expressions of creativity.
It will involve college students, local celebrities and corporations who support creative industries in conjunction with IACT College Open Day.
IACT College Marketing Communication director and senior lecturer Penny Low explains, “Creativity is often misunderstood. It’s time we showcase creativity and celebrate its impact on our community.”
Her vision for the month- long campaign is to inspire talented individuals and encourage them to explore the different creative career options.
Mass communication student and Performing Arts ( PARTS) Club co- president, Christopher Sebastian highlights, “This is a great opportunity and platform for us to showcase creativity. We appreciate the fact that IACT College is championing such an event.”
IACT College students are groomed to showcase their creativity through stage performances, exhibiting their works and selling of their own works of art, among other things.
He added, “We have also generously pledged our proceeds to ANGSANACare, which aims to support and enrich the lives of paediatric palliative patients and family members.”
The Creative Carnival will be held on March 19 and 20, from 10am to 5pm together with its Creative Begins Here Open Day.
There will be a host of entertaining performances by GigFairy Artists ( a Malaysian online platform to book and promote local artists) and IACT College and BAC College PARTS performers.
There will also be inspiring talks by successful IACT alumnus, mainly YouTube sensations Jared Lee ( the man behind GRIMFILM and Morningwood cafe) and Michelle Leong ( YouTuber and actress for JinnyBoyTV), Ashley Chan ( resident presenter for Capital. FM) and Ong Yin Yin ( TV presenter for Astro Channels).
Attendees of the carnival can also join exciting and engaging creative simulations in the fields of Advertising, Broadcasting, Design and Mass Communication at IACT College’s brand new facilities located at VSQ Tower, Petaling Jaya.
