A strong curriculum

-

UNIVERSITI Tunku Abdul Rahman ( UTAR), one of the premier private universities in Malaysia, is committed to excellence in quality and affordable education.

UTAR foundation programmes prepare students to cope with their degree programme of choice and offer the shortest path to progress to undergraduate studies within a year.

Offered by UTAR’s Centre for Foundation Studies ( CFS), students can choose to pursue either in Foundation in Arts or Foundation in Science.

For Foundation in Arts, students can choose either the Arts and Social Science Stream or the Management and Accountancy Stream; while Foundation in Science students can choose between the Physical Science stream and Biological Science stream. They can then progress to over 65 undergraduate programmes.

CFS Sungai Long campus director Melissa Stefanie Netto says, “Our programmes foster a well- balanced and holistic education providing a wide range of knowledge.

“Since most of the students think that foundation programmes are too packed and challenging, I would like to say that the pain of learning new things does not hurt you, but prepares you for the future.”

CFS Kampar Campus director Tan Lee Siew adds: “The qualified and committed teaching staff, availability and incorporation of online learning environments and well- equipped facilities as a whole provide students an environment that is more effective and conducive to learning.”

The university promotes excellence by providing scholarships to students with outstanding academic performance to pursue their foundation and undergraduate programmes.

Students who obtain 7A’s and above in SPM will have their tuition fees waived for their foundation programme.

UTAR takes heart in the well- being of students. Students can seek counselling services from the Department of Student Affairs ( DSA) at their campus. In addition, every student in Foundation Studies will be assigned an academic advisor.

In conjunction with the May student intake, UTAR is inviting school- leavers to UTAR Open Day on March 19 and 20 ( Saturday and Sunday), 9am- 5pm at UTAR Sungai Long in Bandar Sungai Long and UTAR Kampar Campus in Perak.

UTAR is also having extended counselling hours at the Sungai Long and Kampar Campuses daily starting from March 12 till June 12, 9am- 5pm ( excluding public holidays).
