The Star Malaysia - Star2 - - MATTA FAIR -

THE Philippine Department of Tourism ( PDOT) once again joins this year’s MATTA Fair organised by Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents with the participation of travel trade partners.

To attract more tourists, Department of Tourism and Tourism Promotions Board is tapping personalities from a wide range of sectors to promote the Philippines and to speak about the wonderful destinations in the country.

Filipinos abroad were called to help promote the “Visit the Philippines Again” campaign of the Department of Tourism for 2016, inviting and welcoming Malaysians to visit Philippines Again this year to explore the new developments of the country.

New developments in the country in the last five years have opened new opportunities for the country’s travel trade sector.

The cultural semblances between Malaysia and the Philippines and their proximity make the Philippines an excellent leisure or business trip option for Malaysians.

Also low cost carriers operate short- haul destinations directly to the country’s top tourist destinations such as Boracay and Cebu.

Hospitality, Lifestyle + Entertainment, Sea, Sun and Sand are the hotspots of the Philippines.

This MATTA Fair, Philippine Tourism will continue to promote Boracay as the “Favourite Beach Destination” to the Malaysian market.

Travel and Leisure Magazine recognised it as the World’s Best Island in 2012.

Powder- fine sand, crystal blue waters and magnificent sunset are its draw.

But it’s an upbeat spirit that keeps people coming back for more.

This island is a cheerful and friendly place.

Sea, sun and sand during daytime, lifestyle, entertainment and shopping at night.

Three days, two nights ground arrangement to Boracay at just RM368 plus free Pocket Wi- Fi where you can share your beautiful pictures through social media immediately.

Another attraction is the “Butanding Encounters” – or encounters with the whale shark ( butanding).

Considered the largest fish in the world at more than 50 feet long, they are called the gentle giant of the seas as they feed on fish and plankton; leaving you to swim, snorkel or dive in safety.

You can find whale shark in Oslob, Cebu and Dumaguete, Negros Oriental.

For four days, three nights, swim with the whale sharks at RM1,288.

To redeem an exclusive souvenir ( foldable mat and bag, or an A5 memo drinking bottle) from Philippine Tourism, purchase a Philippine Tour Package during MATTA Fair from March 11 to 13.
