Songbirds of the Golden Era soar at Resorts World Theatre
In a nostalgic tribute to the heavenly queens who reigned over the silver screen and theatrical stage in their prime, Resorts World Sentosa ( RWS) is presenting its inaugural Songbirds of the Golden Era. Having made its debut on March 1 and running till May 31 at Resorts World Theatre, this series brings to life evergreen signature tunes made popular during the Golden Era of the 1930s to the 50s. In each 60- minute lunchtime show at 1pm, three experienced stage singers reprise iconic and wellloved melodies by Zhou Xuan, Li Xiang Lan, Wu Ying Yin, Bai Guang, Ge Lan or Yao Li.
Complementing the singers with their own renditions of the evergreen hits are four dancers and a three- piece jazz band directed by the young and talented August Lum, while the emcee for the shows is local stage veteran Zhao Jin.
