ARE you a little bored or feeling stuck in a rut but not quite ready to pack it all in and go walking in Nepal or sailing around the world by yourself? Here are some fun ideas that will give your day a bit of pep, without making huge life- changing decisions.

Wear a bright colour

Bright red, vivid orange, or luminous neon yellow. Whatever it is, wear something that makes you stand out. If you’re feeling too shy, work up from wild socks or a bright lipstick.

Call someone you haven’t spoken to in six months

It’s lovely to catch up with old friends, so pour yourself a cup of coffee, pick up the phone and reconnect.

Have a picnic

Pack yourself a sandwich and a drink and go commune with nature. Sit on a park bench under the shade by a lake or a rock on the beach if you live close to the ocean. It doesn’t have to be fancy – just get yourself out of the house.

Buy flowers and fruit

Seriously, having a splash of colour on your table is good for the soul, and eating fruit is good for your body. So splurge and be good to yourself.

Have your hair done

Take an hour or two to have your hair washed, conditioned and blown dry. Go to a place that throws in a mini massage. When you look terrific, you will get a mental boost too.

Wear bright colours or anything that makes you stand out.
