Slime time
What went down at the Kids’ Choice Awards.
WHAT does it take to connect with younger viewers these days? At last weekend’s Kids’ Choice Awards in California, social media proved to be the key to a millennial’s heart.
When host and country singer Blake Shelton was not dressed in a unicorn costume, he took the time to share some #ThrowbackThursday photos on stage.
Shelton proved that someone who used to rock a pair of geeky glasses and mullet back in school could also be the man to win the heart of pop singer Gwen Stefani. It does get better, kids.
Presenter Ellen DeGeneres made a Snapchat video featuring herself and the crowd, saying: “We’re going to create the biggest Snapchat. I’ll Snapchat you ( the audience) while you Snapchat me”.
And what’s a Kids’ Choice Awards without some green slime?
Members of Fifth Harmony ( who won Favourite Music Group) didn’t see the slime coming and ran around screaming on stage. They should have been like Jason Sudeikis and Josh Gad who embraced the green gooey stuff.
Those who were seated at the auditorium weren’t safe either. Fuller House and Grandfathered actor John Stamos got a bucketful while enjoying the show. Newsflash: he still looks good. Oh, and Cameron Dallas, who was voted Favourite Viral Internet Star, got a taste of the green stuff too. Popularity comes with a price!
A fight broke out on stage between Captain America and Iron Man, but relax, it was just a thumb war between Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. Luckily, the fight ended prematurely, otherwise, someone’s thumb could get hurt real bad.
