THE wellhead and christmas tree are critical components during drilling and production phases.

Solar Alert Sdn Bhd is the first Malaysian and Bumiputra- owned company that designs, manufactures, installs and maintains wellhead and christmas tree components in line with API 6A and API 16A specifications.

It has also extended its business footprint in South- East Asia, Middle East, Central Asia and Africa.

Solar Alert has successfully designed its own wellhead and christmas tree, which have been installed in many offshore and onshore fields operated by oil majors such as Petronas, Petrofac, Nippon Oil, Lundin, Vestigo, PetroVietnam, PTT Exploration and Production, Santos and Dragon Oil, among others.

According to Solar Alert managing director Datuk Zubaidi Sulaiman, Solar Alert is committed to establishing itself as one of the market leaders in the near future through design optimisation, enhanced reliability and quality support service while maintaining its competitive edge.

Solar Alert’s wellhead and christmas tree designs are comparative, if not superior, to competitors in the market.

This includes major oil and gas service companies from the United States and European countries that have incomparable resources and have long been in the market.

Beginning from the conventional flange type design wellhead, Solar Alert has now developed its own compact system, compact two- inone system, three- in- one system and unitised system complete with full metal- to- metal seals.

In addition, Solar Alert has extended its product line by introducing its own mudline suspension system, which was successfully installed at Petrofac’s Berantai Phase 2 field.

Despite the unpredictable market conditions, Solar Alert is taking a bold step in establishing its second production plant.

The plant will be based in Bekasi, Indonesia, making Solar Alert a true international manufacturer.

The plant is expected to be fully operational by late next year and will provide access to the Indonesian market, which has huge growth potential.

The new plant will provide relief to Solar Alert’s current plant in terms of production capacity, which has increased from 16 to 22 sets per month over the last year.

Introducing state- of- the- art CNC milling and boring machines, which improve production efficiency, enables an increase in production.

The current plant is also equipped with a semi- robotic cladding machine to do special material inlay for sour gas components.

Solar Alert was the first Malaysian company accorded the 2014 Gold Award for the Most Outstanding Vendor for Drilling by Petronas Carigali.

The company is also among the first batch of Malaysian companies that graduated from the Mid- Tier Company Development Programme under the sponsorship of Malaysian Trade Agency ( Matrade) and International Trade and Industry Ministry ( Miti).

Despite being a mid- tier company, Solar Alert ranks 70th based on revenue and was listed within the top 20 in terms of growth ( from 2011 to 2013) on the Malaysian Petroleum Resources Corporation ( MPRC) Top 100 Oil & Gas companies in Malaysia in 2013.

The company is committed to producing customer satisfaction and delivering quality products and services through enrichment of its human capital.

The company takes pride in achieving success by developing and nurturing local talent and will continue to provide the platform for young engineers to learn and develop its creativity and skills in the industry in its quest to be the market leader.
