Budgeting for the baby President of Kao Malaysia Fujiwara Masaki says that one of his favourite sections is “Get Ready, Daddy!”, which contains suggestions on how fathers can get involved from the very start.

“The key visual presents not just the mother and baby, but the father too because Kao recognises that a newborn is the responsibility of the entire family. A baby’s smile brings smiles to both parents’ faces,” he says.

As a father, don’t leave all the basics, such as feeding or changing diapers, to the mum – step in and do your part too! Take every opportunity to bond with your baby by holding or hugging him as often as you can.

By providing him with high levels of affection ( by playing and responding to his cries), he will quickly form a strong attachment to you.

So, no matter how busy you are, make it a point to set some time aside for your child, as most children see the time you spend with them as an indicator of your love for them.
