Bringing you to Middle- earth

-

LORD of the Rings and The Hobbiton enthusiasts are in for a treat as Parlo Tours presents its 11D/ 8N The Real Middle- Earth of New Zealand package. Even non- fans would be delighted with the package as the itinerary is different from the usual – the tour covers the north and west coast of the South Islands of New Zealand.

Travelling on AirAsia X, you can rest assured that baggage allowance, seat reservation and meals are provided for a comfortable, pleasant journey.

In South Island, you will experience highlights such as a visit to Arthur’s Pass National Park, which features diversity of flora and landscape in the heart of the Southern Alps. You will also visit Fox Glacier – the longest of the awe- inspiring New Zealand West Coast glaciers. To continue your scenic tour, there will also be a visit to Lake Matheson. The unsurpassed views and mountain reflections from its forested shores make this easy walk among the most popular on the West Coast.

Adrenaline junkies and those looking for some adventure would be pleased to note that there is also an optional tour to the Kawarau Bungy Centre – the first bungy jump site in the world. You may choose to get the adrenaline going with an exhilarating jump or just savour the atmosphere from its viewing platform.

The tour also includes a must- do activity – a ride on the Skyline Queenstown Gondola, which carries you 450m to the top of Bob’s Peak. Along the way, you will be treated to a spectacular 220° panorama with breathtaking views.

Also included in the programme is an excursion to Milford Sound for an unforgettable Southern fjords adventure. On this excursion, you will enjoy awe- inspiring scenery from the comfort of a modern, spacious vessel. Do also keep a lookout for wildlife, such as seals basking on the rocks or dolphins.

Another highlight of this tour is a night’s stay in Aoraki Mount Cook National Park where you can catch sight of the peak of Mount Cook.

You will also be visiting Mount Cook Alpine Salmon Farm at the Lake Pukaki Visitor Centre.

Enjoy breathtaking landscapes and the Kiwi spirit of adventure at Aoraki Mount Cook National Park and experience a clear starry night in the world’s largest International Dark Sky Reserve. You will also go on the Kea Point Walk, which gently winds through subalpine grasslands to the Mueller Glacier moraine wall and ends at a viewing deck. There will also be a stop at Lake Tekapo.

When you move on to the North Island, this is where Middle- earth comes to life. Here, the tour will take you to The Shire, home of the Hobbiton Movie Set, where The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbiton trilogies were filmed. During your tour you will see Hobbit Holes, The Green Dragon Inn, The Mill as well as other structures and gardens built for the films.

Aside from this Middle- earth experince, there will also be a unique farm experience at Agrodome, which is located in the heart of a working 350- acre farm – truly an educational experience for the whole family. On this tour, you get to ride around on board The Giant Farm Truck and hand- feed as well as take photos with all sorts of friendly animals. On a visit to the kiwifruit orchard and olive grove, you get to taste natural kiwifruit juice and honey.

To experience the local culture, you will enjoy a Hangi feast and be treated to a Maori cultural performance. There will also be a visit to Welcome to The Te Puia, New Zealand’s living Maori cultural centre in the Whakarewarewa Geothermal Valley.
