Deepwater Horizon

IN April 2010, there was an oil spill that was unstoppable for three months; it polluted the ocean for miles which led to other disasters. The spill happened due to an explosion on the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig at the Gulf of Mexico. Some of the workers lost their lives in this tragedy. This film focuses on the lives of these workers on the drilling platform when the methane gas build- up ignited and exploded. Hmm ... wonder if director Peter Berg will also reveal the result of an investigation much later behind the avoidable disaster, pointing towards BP’s negligence? Mark Wahlberg, Kurt Russell, Dylan O’Brien, John Malkovich, Kate Hudson and Gina Rodriguez star in this film that captures the events leading up to the worst oil spill in the history of the United States. – Deepwater Horizon opens at cinemas nationwide on Sept 29.
