BEING a champion is not just about winning. No one understands this better than the team at Michael’s Badminton Academy ( MBA).

“At MBA, we define champions as being the best you can be in everything you do. Badminton is about fostering relationships, instilling values such as teamwork, respect and resilience, and building a person’s character and confidence,” says K. C. Lee, managing director of MBA.

Back by popular demand, the MBA Holiday Badminton Camp which will take place this month sees MBA collaborating with Brain Bytes, an organisation focused on cultivating a 4C- able future for individuals through an emphasis on communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking skills.

“While the MBA Holiday Badminton Camp aims to teach fundamental badminton skills to beginners and enhance the techniques of those who are more advanced, we always try to incorporate off- court development programmes to ensure that our students benefit physically and mentally,” adds Lee.

“Sharing the same goal as MBA, we at Brain Bytes aim not only to aid participants in strengthening their physical state, but also guide them on how to carry themselves well to be successful in all aspects of life,” says J. C. Leong, project manager of Brain Bytes.

In addition to four days of specialised training in badminton skills and techniques by professional MBA coaches, campers can look forward to engaging activities by Brain Bytes to enhance their creativity and critical thinking skills.

“My daughter Amelia found the interactive session interesting and had fun participating in the activities,” says Malini Selva, whose six- year- old daughter participated in the MBA Holiday Camp preview session.

“After the preview session, I immediately signed my son up for the MBA Holiday Camp in September. Not only are we sure that our son will benefit from the technical and physical aspects of the game, we also look forward to him developing social skills,” says Chan, father of 12- year- old Chan Zhen Hao.

Open to participants aged 10 to 17, the MBA Holiday Badminton Camp will be hosted at the new MBA Port Dickson from Sept 12 to 15.

The fee is RM599 per participant, inclusive of professional badminton coaching, creativity and personal development workshops, accommodation and meals. Participants are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible to secure their places.
