THE POWER OF FLOWERS
Mamonde aspires to awaken the feminine beauty in each woman through its flower- inspired products.
AFTER successfully launching Korean beauty brands Laneige, innisfree and Sulwhasoo, leading South Korean beauty company AmorePacific unveils its fourth brand in Malaysia, Mamonde. Launched in 1991, the brand offers scientifically- perfected botanical blends that capture the zenith of flower energy.
Drawing inspiration from flowers, it focuses on three key aspects in its products: Botanical Garden, Flower Science and Blossoming Beauty.
Since the company’s inception in 1945, AmorePacific has been committed to using natural ingredients of the highest quality.
Its facility in South Korea houses a Botanical Garden where thousands of flower species are grown by botanists, to be used as ingredients for Mamonde’s products.
All of Mamonde’s flowers are locally grown; some are sourced from pristine parts of Korea before being transferred to the garden.
There are honeysuckles grown in the fertile soil of Jindo Island, camellias from Jeju Island, lotus flowers and narcissus from Jeongeup as well as hibiscus grown in partnership with artisan farmers at the Chollipo Arboretum, one of Korea’s most beautiful parks recognised by the International Society of Arboriculture.
Flower science
When it comes to the science behind the ingredients, Mamonde researchers have devoted more than two decades worth of research into studying the blooming mechanisms of flowers and ways to capture this vitality into skincare efficacies.
Studies have revealed that flowers promote various forms of skin health such as increasing skin immunity and reducing cell tiredness, among others.
This is evident in its products such as the Mamonde Age- Control range that has Camellia EGCG, an antioxidant extracted from the camellia. A result of 16 years of research, it was discovered that the Camellia EGCG boasts antioxidant properties measuring 4.8 times higher than vitamin C and 4.7 times higher than vitamin E, and can help to maintain youthful skin appearance.
Another example is the award- winning Ceramid PC- 104 derived from the hibiscus flower, the key ingredient for its Moisture Ceramide range, which strengthens skin’s suppleness and effectively moisturises skin. Its efficacy is proven by five patents and four journal mentions.
Every Mamonde product tells a compelling story that points to the diligent research which has contributed towards its success.
The brand aspires to awaken the feminine beauty in each woman through its flower- inspired products. This is apparent through its collection of diverse and innovative make- up products, including the Mamonde Cover Powder Cushion, inspired by peach blossoms.
Scientists have discovered that micro- protrusions on peach flower petals enable higher liquid retention. As such, Mamonde has come up with a cushion liquid formula containing peach flower powder that imitates this mechanism to help control excess sebum.
This results in a natural, long- lasting cushion coverage that’s ideal for users in Malaysia’s humid weather.
