Sunway TeS alumna – more than just an accountant

-

“MY lecturers were fun and lively, yet caring and dedicated at the same time. Apart from sharing their wealth of knowledge, they have imparted inspiring life stories and valuable lessons.

“I not only acquired technical knowledge, I was also building up my character, too. It has given me a competitive advantage when it came to job interviews,” said Juliana Heng Huijing, an alumna of Sunway TES Centre for Accountancy Excellence ( CAE).

“My course mates have become my lifelong friends. We went through thick and thin together as we studied for our exams and had lots of fun along the way. We leveraged on each other’s strength by sharing what works for us in approaching the subject we were strong in. Although the exams were an individual battle, teamwork was the key ingredient in the preparation phase.

“As for the support staff, I am grateful to them as they ensured all classes and exams were arranged in an organised manner,” said Heng.

The former student of SMK Taman Sea took some of the best things from her time at Sunway into her work life.

“In Sunway TES, our classes were so packed yet there were so many fun events happening on campus at the same time. To excel in my studies and indulge in these fun events simultaneously demanded heightened skills in time management.”

Heng, who completed the Certified Accounting Technician ( CAT) in 2009 and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants ( ACCA) in 2011, is currently attached to KLCC Property Holdings Berhad as a Finance Executive.

In the company, there is a strong spirit of “muhibbah”.

“Although there are always tight deadlines and long working hours in our line of work, we made sure we enjoy ourselves as well.
