SEPT 10- 11: In the run– up to its World Diabetes Day celebrations in November, Sunway Medical Centre is organising a series of community health screening roadshows to raise awareness on diabetes and how Malaysians can take preventive measures to combat and manage the disease. The Malaysian Association of Hotels is co- organising a 12- hour jamming session in aid of the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit of University Malaya Medical Centre, Food Aid Foundation and Malaysian Red Crescent Selangor branch. DEADLINE SEPT 23: The Government of India is offering a scholarship programme for diaspora children for Persons of Indian Origin ( PIOs), Non- Resident Indians ( NRIs) and Children of Indian Workers in Malaysia wanting to pursue specific undergraduate courses in India during the 2016- 17 academic year. The courses under this programme do not include medical- related courses. The SPDC is open to applicants between the ages of 17 and 21 years as on Oct 1.
