Empowering local SMEs
CREDIT Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad (CGC) was established in 1972, to play a developmental role in supporting the country’s economic developmental agenda by assisting SMEs.
It aids those with little or no collateral to obtain credit facilities from financial institutions. It also offers direct financing to segments that are considered as high risk groups by financial institutions.
CGC also offers BizMula-i financing facility to start-ups and BizWanita-i to women entrepreneurs with financing up to RM300,000.
Last September, CGC introduced a programme to offer advice to SMEs on local and international access.
Credit information and rating services
CGC also provides credit information and rating services through its subsidiary, Credit Bureau Malaysia (CBM).
CBM assists SMEs build credit history and track record in order to secure financing on their own merit. It has also introduced innovative products to cater for the SME sector’s rapidly changing financing needs.
BizSME
BizSME is a new product that offers 100% guarantee and involves a faster turnaround time in document processing. The product is available at competitive rates and offers financing from RM50,000 to RM500,000.
SMEs can walk directly into any one of CGC’s 16 branches nationwide, in order to avail themselves on CGC’s 100% guarantee, which is financed by its bank partner, OCBC Bank Berhad. BizBina-i
Formerly known as the Special Assistance Scheme, the BizBina-i is a corporate social responsibility initiative undertaken by CGC to enable customers whose businesses have been affected by floods, to recover and resume business operations after the disaster.
