Clearly a top choice for nasi kandar
NASI Kandar Line Clear in George Town, Penang, is an institution that needs no introduction, having thrilled the discerning tastebuds of locals and foreigners alike, for around seven decades.
Located in a narrow alleyway along the bustling Penang Road, it serves over 30 mouth-watering dishes, mostly cooked to recipes that have been passed down through generations, using their own hand-ground spice mixes.
The authentic tastes have kept regulars coming back through the years, especially during Ramadan, when large crowds would drop by to berbuka puasa (break fast) or get a quick takeaway for breaking fast at home.
Managing partner Abdul Kader Jainul Abdin said the item not to be missed is their best-selling Kari Kepala Ikan. There are only limited quantities each day, so get them fast before they are sold out.
Equally tempting is the fragrant Ayam Goreng, crispy outside and juicy within. Otherwise, there are the tasty Ayam Bawang Pedas, Ayam Ros, Burung Panggang and Kambing Kurma.
Whether it is with Nasi Briyani or Nasi Tomato, it is recommended to lather on a mixture of the curry gravies.
Throughout Ramadan, these main dishes will be served from 5pm to 10pm with Air Sirap
on the house.
Line Clear, which claims to be the first 24-hour nasi kandar outlet in Penang, is also serving
Sahur between 3am and 5am during the Holy Month. There will be
Kari Ayam, Kari Ikan, Daging Rendang and Kambing Kurma,
among others.
Throughout the day, there would also be other offerings, ranging from a set of Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng priced at only RM6, to Roti Canai, Murtabak, and Roti John,
