This is a solo exhibition of 15 artworks (oil paintings, sketches and installation art) by Bree Jonson, a rising star in the contemporary art scene in the Philippines. Writhing examines the enigmatic qualities of creatures such as anemones and sea urchins. The anemone’s venomous tentacles emit toxins that can paralyse its prey, normally fish and crustaceans, which are then guided into its mouth for digestion. The sea urchin is feared for its stinging spines and alien-like appearance. But these are nature’s defences against their predators, like crabs, snails, marine mammals and humans.

Time: 11am–7pm (Tuesday to Saturday); by appointment (Sunday). Closed on Mondays and public holidays. Admission is free.
