Dance drama Sri Valli Thirumanam (The Marriage of Lord Muruga and Valli) depicts the story of the handsome Muruga and his attempts to woo the tribal princess, Valli. But why would Muruga do that when he is already married to Deivanai? With its team of 110 members, including over 60 dancers, audiences can look forward to brilliant choreograp­hy, magnificen­t music, colourful costumes, artistic set designs and vibrant lighting.

Admission is free. Attendees must be seated in the hall by 7.30pm.

Catch the performanc­e by Sabahan Shanel, with Joe B on the Bobo Grand, Amar Azalan on bass, and Ayam on percussion. From humble beginnings, Shanel has risen to prominence, performing before world leaders at official summit gala dinners. She has also appeared on stage in musical theatre and on television in the reality series Audition Season 1 where she placed among the top five finalists. Shanel recently released her debut recording, Perjalanan, distribute­d by Sony Music.

Gypsy project is a Trio that pays homage to the style of gypsy-swing popularize­d by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grapelli. Their repertoire consists of mainly jazz standards and classic Malay jazz tunes sung by Tan Sri P Ramlee and Co in a stripped-down version with duo acoustic guitars, and on some tunes, vocal. This trio is led by Wan Gigi, a session guitarist who has previously performed alongside many local and internatio­nal acts, such as Anuar Zain, Atilia and Laura Fygi.

Children below 10 are not permitted at the event. And a dress code applies (no shorts or slippers). Music charge: RM10+. Showtime 10pm.

Come over for a fun saxophone day with Dr Chee Meng Low at KLPac, hosted by Birdian Saxophone Quartet, KLPac and Yamaha Malaysia. There will be a series of events, including a workshop/lecture (9am), masterclas­s (10.30am), open rehearsal (2pm), plus a solo and ensemble performanc­e (4pm). Various brands and models of saxophones and accessorie­s will be exhibited outside Pentas 2.

This is a solo exhibition of 15 artworks (oil paintings, sketches and installati­on art) by Bree Jonson, a rising star in the contempora­ry art scene in the Philippine­s. Writhing examines the enigmatic qualities of creatures such as anemones and sea urchins. The anemone’s venomous tentacles emit toxins that can paralyse its prey, normally fish and crustacean­s, which are then guided into its mouth for digestion. The sea urchin is feared for its stinging spines and alien-like appearance. But these are nature’s defences against their predators, like crabs, snails, marine mammals and humans.

Time: 11am–7pm (Tuesday to Saturday); by appointmen­t (Sunday). Closed on Mondays and public holidays. Admission is free.
