Flexibility and hands-on learning
“The DECE programme offered by WOU has given me that ultimate control of what I can pursue with my career,” said Jennifer, a dedicated preschool teacher who has been working with Kindergarten Kinderjoy for eight years.
The flexibility of WOU’s programme has allowed her to successfully juggle her fulltime employment with her studies and domestic responsibilities.
“ODL has become a pervasive and growing phenomenon. Innovative use of technologies creates more effective techniques to distribute learning in non-traditional ways. The flexibility of WOU’s programme and its affordability allow me to upgrade myself and achieve my goals by 2020,” added Jennifer.
With this diploma, graduates can find employment in childcare setting and preschools as teachers and administrators. Graduates who are teachers in preschool centres but without the formal credentials will now be suitably qualified to teach and can also open their own preschool centres.
Enrolment for July intake is in progress. Applicants who obtain a minimum of three credits in SPM or equivalent can gain direct admission into the DECE programme.
Those who do not meet the regular entry requirements can gain admission via the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) provided they are at least 20 years old and possess relevant work experience.
Apart from the DECE programme, WOU also offers Post-Graduate Diploma in Education and Master of Education for working professionals who aspire to upgrade their expertise in teaching, research and education management.
Join WOU today and enjoy special rebates of RM1,000 and RM400, offered for the first semester to all new undergraduate and postgraduate students respectively.
