BANGSAR Shop­ping Cen­tre (BSC) is gear­ing up to usher in the fes­tive sea­son with a mod­ern twist that en­com­passes the val­ues of Hari Raya Aidil­fitri with tra­di­tional art, crafts and mu­sic in a con­tem­po­rary set­ting.

“This year’s con­cept was cho­sen to de­pict a blend of mod­ern and tra­di­tional el­e­ments with the in­ten­tion of pro­vid­ing shop­pers with a re­fresh­ing ex­pe­ri­ence that can be re­lat­able to both the young and old,” said BR Prop­erty Hold­ings Sdn Bhd as­set and prop­erty man­age­ment as­sis­tant gen­eral man­ager Aileen Ewe.

Draw­ing in­spi­ra­tion from the place where the greet­ing “Eid Mubarak” orig­i­nated, the on-ground set-up fea­tures a touch of tra­di­tional Mid­dle Eastern el­e­ments with a twist of moder­nity, re­sult­ing in an el­e­gant am­bi­ence.

Mu­si­cal en­ter­tain­ment

Shop­pers will be treated to fes­tive melodies as mu­si­cal en­sem­bles fea­tur­ing tra­di­tional equip­ment such as game­lan, angk­lung, cak­lem­pong, ac­cor­dion and gam­bus will be per­form­ing on the fol­low­ing dates:

> Angk­lung: June 9 (1pm) and 18 (2pm)

> Game­lan: June 17 (2pm)

> Cak­lem­pong: June 10 (5pm)

> Ac­cor­dion and gam­bus: June 11 (5pm) and June 16 (1pm)

Fes­tive ac­tiv­i­ties abound

Vis­i­tors will also be spoilt for choice with no less than 26 bazaar-like booths of­fer­ing a range of items such as Raya-re­lated fash­ion, ac­ces­sories, snacks and mer­chan­dise fea­tur­ing brands such as Fa­timah Songket, Poya and Hi­daya.

Ad­di­tion­ally, keep a look­out for the Buka Puasa food corner, which will be avail­able daily from 3pm to 7pm at the main con­course.

Arts and crafts work­shops will be avail­able to keep the lit­tle ones oc­cu­pied while also teach­ing them about the beauty, pa­tience and skills in­volved in each craft.

Best of all, they get to keep their own master­pieces.

Spe­cial treats for shop­pers

Shop­pers who spend RM1,000 (CIMB cards RM800) in a max­i­mum com­bi­na­tion of two re­ceipts at any out­let in BSC will be re­warded with an ex­clu­sive serv­ing bowl gift set. Redemp­tions can be made at the BSC Concierge lo­cated on the ground floor.

Con­cur­rently, Kia will be show­cas­ing the newly launched Grand Car­ni­val MPV at the La Bodega area on the ground floor through­out this pe­riod.

Shop­pers will also be able to check out the in­te­rior of the New Grand Car­ni­val, which draws in­spi­ra­tion from the likes of first-class aero­planes in terms of the de­signs and ma­te­ri­als used.

BSC is a one-stop cen­tre for those who wish to break fast, get some Raya shop­ping done or just en­joy the fes­tive at­mos­phere and per­for­mances with loved ones.

The Hari Raya Bazaar Pro­mo­tion at BSC is from now till June 23.
