Where modern meets traditional
BANGSAR Shopping Centre (BSC) is gearing up to usher in the festive season with a modern twist that encompasses the values of Hari Raya Aidilfitri with traditional art, crafts and music in a contemporary setting.
“This year’s concept was chosen to depict a blend of modern and traditional elements with the intention of providing shoppers with a refreshing experience that can be relatable to both the young and old,” said BR Property Holdings Sdn Bhd asset and property management assistant general manager Aileen Ewe.
Drawing inspiration from the place where the greeting “Eid Mubarak” originated, the on-ground set-up features a touch of traditional Middle Eastern elements with a twist of modernity, resulting in an elegant ambience.
Musical entertainment
Shoppers will be treated to festive melodies as musical ensembles featuring traditional equipment such as gamelan, angklung, caklempong, accordion and gambus will be performing on the following dates:
> Angklung: June 9 (1pm) and 18 (2pm)
> Gamelan: June 17 (2pm)
> Caklempong: June 10 (5pm)
> Accordion and gambus: June 11 (5pm) and June 16 (1pm)
Festive activities abound

Additionally, keep a lookout for the Buka Puasa food corner, which will be available daily from 3pm to 7pm at the main concourse.
Arts and crafts workshops will be available to keep the little ones occupied while also teaching them about the beauty, patience and skills involved in each craft.
Best of all, they get to keep their own masterpieces.

Shoppers who spend RM1,000 (CIMB cards RM800) in a maximum combination of two receipts at any outlet in BSC will be rewarded with an exclusive serving bowl gift set. Redemptions can be made at the BSC Concierge located on the ground floor.
Concurrently, Kia will be showcasing the newly launched Grand Carnival MPV at the La Bodega area on the ground floor throughout this period.
Shoppers will also be able to check out the interior of the New Grand Carnival, which draws inspiration from the likes of first-class aeroplanes in terms of the designs and materials used.
BSC is a one-stop centre for those who wish to break fast, get some Raya shopping done or just enjoy the festive atmosphere and performances with loved ones.
The Hari Raya Bazaar Promotion at BSC is from now till June 23.
