Churning out employable graduates

-

THE global economy and education industry are inexorably linked. As Malaysia continues its impressive growth, in tandem with world economy there will also be an increase in demand for a qualified workforce. Employers too are continuously seeking suitably qualified and competent labour to remain competitive in a challenging operating environment.

Vision College recognises this fact and is committed to offering accredited programmes with high quality academic teaching in a holistic approach. In particular, it emphasises on quality, affordability and employability. Vision College is rated fivestar by MyQUEST, which further reaffirms the college’s commitment to deliver highly employable graduates while offering students a holistic campus experience.

Vision College strives to equip students with a solid theoretical foundation as well as current industrial knowledge to provide them real-life learning experiences. Its academic team consists of experts from the relevant fields. The college acknowledges the shortcomings of today’s graduates in the areas of soft skills. In line with its vision to produce highly employable graduates, it has developed a career-readiness programme aimed at equipping students with the essential soft skills required to succeed in the working world. These modules include Career Interest Test, SWOT Analysis, Communication and Presentation Skills, Critical Thinking, Stress Management, Resume Writing and Mock Interviews.

There is a significant correlation between poor command of the English language and fresh graduate employment. Vision College offers all students complementary International English Language Testing System (IELTS) equivalent classes as a means to improve their language proficiency throughout the duration of their studies. Students will be streamed according to their language competency and will also undergo continuous assessments. Great emphasis is also placed on student practical training. Students of the Medical Imaging programme will undergo two semesters’ worth of clinical training at renowned private and government hospitals whereas nurses will attend a 60-week practical training throughout their three-year programme. In addition, its in-house Vision Diagnostic Centre, which caters to state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging modalities including ultrasound, x-ray and mammogram ensures students are given exposure to real-life patient scenarios to supplement their overall learning experience.

The recently opened Vision Physiotherapy Centre and Vision Eyecare centres are well equipped with crucial resources and facilities, enabling students to be immersed in actual set-ups. Many have cited the rising cost of living as a limitation to pursuing tertiary education. Vision College offers a variety of scholarships designed to aid financially strapped students, including tuition fee rebates and free accommodation. It has also established a memorandum of understanding with several renowned hospitals to provide sponsorships to qualified students who will also have the benefit of job placement with the sponsors upon graduation. With a team of committed lecturers and modern facilities, Vision College has put in place the knowledge, capabilities and resources to produce highly employable graduates.

Intake is in progress for July 2017 intake.
