Journey with the best

- The CeMBA has greatly benefited Lim's professional career. Assoc Prof Dr Intan Osman

EMBARKING on his academic journey with Wawasan Open University (WOU) has brought untold benefits to 35-year-old Lim Wei, including upward career mobility and acquiring professional skills to stay relevant in the competitive job market.

A senior manager with RHB Bank, Lim enrolled in the January 2017 intake of the Commonwealth Executive Master of Business Administration (CeMBA) programme at WOU.

The knowledge gained from CeMBA is already reaping benefits for his career, helping him make sound organisational decisions and improving his daily work performance.

According to WOU’s School of Business and Administration dean Assoc Prof Dr Intan Osman, “This MBA programme equips learners with sharp management skills to survive and compete in the business world. They are groomed to become confident and competent leaders with the capacity to stand out and shine, management-wise, in the workplace.

“Students of CeMBA can look forward to greater opportunities for enhanced responsibilities and promotions in their job and career upon the completion of study,” she says, adding that CeMBA is the MBA of choice for working professionals who wish to remain competitive in the corporate world.

As a graduate of WOU’s Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Liberal Studies, Lim enjoyed attractive fee rebates for alumni when he registered for CeMBA.

Lim believed that to stay ahead in the competitive working world, he needed to take the next step of pursuing postgraduate studies.

“After getting my final semester results for my bachelor’s degree, I immediately enrolled in CeMBA as the programme fits my study needs in terms of pace, resources and the knowledge to be gained,” he says.

WOU is offering a 20% tuition fee rebate to all its graduates/ alumni. They can choose from a variety of industry-relevant postgraduate programmes, including MBA in Construction Management, MBA in Manufacturing and Production Management, Master of Education with specialisation in Education Management or Teaching English as a Second Language, as well as the research-based Master of Philosophy or Doctor of Philosophy.

Other learners who enrol in WOU’s postgraduate programmes in the July 2017 intake for part-time study will enjoy a RM400 tuition fee rebate to begin their first semester.

They may finance their studies using their Employees Provident Fund (EPF) savings or receive special rebates of up to RM1,000 as employees of companies that have joined WOU’s education partnership schemes.

Interested individuals can visit WOU Info Day at the main campus, regional centres and support centres nationwide every weekend of this and next month.
