SEGi’s new architecture programme

-

SEGI University’s Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment (FoEBE) produces quality engineers knowledgeable of the industry, and who are capable of building infrastructures for the greater good.

Since its establishment in 2009, the faculty has slowly and steadily built a strong reputation for academic excellence.

Faculty students are taught in-depth knowledge on engineering, sciences and mathematics, to ensure they master analytical thinking skills and apply them on new challenges relevant to the industry.

FoEBE collaborates with other reputable and prestigious universities from the United Kingdom, such as University of Sunderland and Abertay University, for its undergraduate degree programmes.

Students interested in pursuing a degree in engineering can enrol in different niche areas, as SEGi offers a myriad of world-class degree programmes

These include Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Quantity Surveying.

SEGi University is also launching a new undergraduate programme in Architecture from July onwards.

This Bachelor of Science (Hons) Architecture is a home-grown degree and made available in the Kota Damansara flagship campus.

This comprehensive three-year programme encompasses modules involving spatial planning and how that is influenced by factors, like innovation and technology.

SEGi’s team of experienced lecturers will encourage students to discuss and articulate ideas in different styles of design.

This programme will have a soft launch in July and will be officially launched in September.

Career opportunities for architectural graduates are aplenty depending on their interest. They can either choose landscaping or prop design. Other opportunities include interior designing, 3D animator visualising, visual art, CAD designing or operating, academic researching and more.

Upon successful completion of the degree programme, students can register with the Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia (LAM) Part I.

Alternatively, students can also pursue a Master of Architecture graduate programme for an additional two years, which enables them to obtain LAM Part II.

Students will get adequate exposure from the industry as SEGi educators are also practising architects certified by LAM Part II.

For starters, to ensure top-notch education experience for architectural students, SEGi practices low student-to-lecturer ratio, to ensure personalised attention.

The university guarantees a placement for students to undergo six months of industrial training, where the experience will equip them with the right skills and work ethics.

SEGi stays true to its tagline of “The Best in You, Made Possible”.

It believes in giving equal opportunity to all to pursue tertiary education, regardless of gender or financial background.

SEGi extends scholarships such as its High Achiever’s Scholarship (HAS) and financial assistance such as the National Higher Education Fund (PTPTN) to deserving students.

SEGi also offers a special introductory rebate of up to RM3,000 for new students.

The SEGi community gives architectural students a stepping stone towards a successful career in local and global architectural industry. STPM, matriculation or A-Levels school-leavers have a direct entry into the programme while SPM or O-Levels school-leavers can first pursue the Foundation in Science programme. Upon completion they can enrol in the BSc (Hons) Architecture.
