Sunway’s accountancy student comes out tops
PUVENDRAN Selvaraja of Sunway TES Centre for Accountancy Excellence (CAE) did the country proud with top marks in the global Association of Chartered Accountants (ACA) examinations, achieving the best and highest results of all students from around the world.
The examinations are part of the highly regarded Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) Chartered Accountant qualification, held by over 147,000 professionals across more than 160 countries worldwide.
Gaining the ACA proves a candidate has demonstrated the highest technical skills and ethical standards.
Puvendran is the 12th Malaysian student to have won an international ICAEW prize. He was awarded the Joint First Placing and the Watts Prize, Professional Stage Order of Merit with his score of 97% in the Audit and Assurance Exam in the December 2016 sitting. The prize is given to a candidate who has achieved the highest marks in the professional stage papers.

For Puvendran, what he remembers most of his time at Sunway TES CAE is the time spent with his lecturers.
For him, his lecturers were more like friends and he could share anything with them.
He cited that the valuable learning and knowledge gained in ICAEW programme and the ACA has taught him to analyse and solve issues, essential skills required in the business and finance sector.
