In the mood for celebration
Hari Raya is here, and along with it some fantastic specials on TV.
ONE thing’s for sure: On the first and second day of Hari Raya, the house is going to be filled with family members and good friends. From cooking up a storm in the kitchen to piling on the plates with various goodies and eating together, these are moments to be cherished. The good times felt during Hari Raya is something that are reflected on various TV shows this year. There are also a couple of heartfelt stories, to remind us to always be kind and thoughtful towards others. So, on this day of celebration, having successfully completed Ramadan, why not relax with the family by checking out some Aidilfitri specials on TV.
FIRST DAY OF RAYA Syawal Yang Kuinginkan TV3, 10am
Hani is a hardworking tailor at a boutique in the city. She’s so dedicated in her work that she doesn’t have time to visit her family in the kampung. Fed up with her children not wanting to visit her even during Hari Raya, Mak Temah decides to lease out their rooms. Unfortunately for her business venture, it’s two mental asylum escapees who turn up at her door.

Five celebrity couples share their experiences of spending their first Raya together. This show will be shown over five days starting from today. The couples are Mark Adam and Razah Ridzuan; Hanis Zalikha and Hairul Azreen; Scha Alyahya and Awal Ashaari; Hafiz Hamidun and Joy Revfa; Amar Baharin and Amyra Rosli.

Ghani wakes up from a coma after 10 years, and it’s a week from Raya. He is however distraught to learn that his family members have all become a pessimist bunch who care little for the festivity. Lily and Rayqal are excited about celebrating Hari Raya. However, they are constantly hit with problems to the extent they’ve stopped talking to each other.

The best way to watch a horror movie is with as many people as possible and in broad daylight. That’s how Jangan Pandang
Belakang should be watched because the film starring Pierre Andre (who also co-wrote the screenplay) is not for the fainthearted. A couple inadvertently releases an evil spirit when they find a jar washed up at the beach, and take it home.

Movie earned RM500,000. In less than two weeks, it grossed over RM6.3mil, making it the highest-earning Malaysian animated feature. It earned a total of RM15.7mil by the end of its run. Now find out what the fuss is all about as you are drinking teh tarik and eating pineapple jam tarts. Yum.
Dodol Untuk Menantu

You don’t want to miss out on this programme as it pairs up newbies with legends like Ziana Zain, Hail Amir, Uji Rashid, Ning Baizura, Aishah and M. Nasir for a memorable duet. Tune in to the same channel and time on the third day of Raya for the second part of the show.

A Malay classic starring the late Tan Sri Jins Shamsudin, Hashimah Yon, Udo Omar and Aini Hayati. It tells of a woodcutter who has three beautiful daughters. One of them, Teratai, has a magical necklace. Meanwhile, a cursed prince – who takes the form of a snake Romantika Raya focuses on five celebrity couples, including Hairul and Hanis. during the day – meets Teratai one day and falls in love with her. Understandably, the woodcutter is not keen on the relationship.
Konsert Ella 2016, Part One HyppSensasi, HyppTV Ch 116, 11pm
Watch as the local queen of rock entertain her fans at Stadium Malawati Shah Alam with her hit songs through the decades. On stage with her is guitarist Man Kidal, as well as some of her celebrity friends who join her for duets.
