Myvi reaches one millionth milestone

-

THE Perodua Myvi reached its one millionth production unit in May, making it the most produced Malaysian car in history. A Malaysian icon for over 12 years, the Myvi was introduced in May 2005 and became the country’s top selling car until end-2014 when the Perodua Axia was launched.

The Myvi continues to be among the top selling cars in the country.

Perodua president and chief executive officer Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh said the Myvi had been sold in 7 countries since 2006, including Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Brunei, Singapore, Britain, Fiji and Nepal under the Perodua brand.

The Myvi’s biggest export market is Indonesia under the Daihatsu Sirion brand with nearly 31,000 vehicles sold since 2007.

Perodua has exported 35,400 Myvi/Sirion models since 2006 in these markets.

“We will continue selling the Myvi as demand is still strong,” said Aminar at a recent press briefing on Pulau Redang, Terengganu.

Meanwhile, Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd managing director Datuk Dr Zahari Husin said the company is “listening to its customers harder than ever before.”

For example, in the past, it usually takes Perodua at least 18 months to introduce an enhanced model, following its debut.

“However, the updated Bezza was introduced less than a year following its official debut in July last year,” said Zahari.

Recently, the Bezza received enhanced styling which includes new chrome platinum finish for the Premium X and for the Advance Version.

The Bezza Advance Version also comes with a new leather seat design.
