SURPRISINGLY reality star and contour expert Kim Kardashian West has only recently jumped on the bandwagon of creating her own make-up line.
Inspired by younger half-sister Kylie Jenner’s success on her Lip Kits, Kardashian West created the KKW Lip Kit line together with Kylie Cosmetics, and then in late June she rolled out her own online beauty retail KKWBeauty.com, where she has 101 million followers.
The 36-year-old star of the Keeping Up With The Kardashians reality television series just celebrated reaching 100 million followers on Instagram and this means she is the most followed reality star on Instagram.
That’s enough influence and selling power to make beauty conglomerates drool.
On June 22 Kardashian West unveiled the KKW Creme Contour and Highlight Kit priced at US$48 (RM206) under KKWBeauty.com.
The KKW Creme Contour and Highlight Kit were created in four shades: Light, Medium, Dark and Deep Dark.
Each kit comes with dual-ended contour stick and dual-ended highlighter, with one for matte looks and another for shimmering highlight. A dual-ended sponge and blending brush is also included in the kit.
In a WWD report, it was estimated that KKW Beauty would have stocked up 300,000 units of the KKW Creme Contour and Highlight Kit. This figure is based on the market test earlier on the sale of the KKW Lip Kit line.
According to Kardashian West’s Instagram, all of the KKW Highlighter and Contour kits were sold out hours upon release online.
Apparently, neither the star nor her team would confirm the total number of kits sold, according to a report in Forbes.
So, if the 300,000 figure is accurate, KKW Beauty would have sold US$14.4mil (RM61.8mil) in con- tour kits in one day!
Kardashian West, who has an estimated net worth of US$45.5mil (RM195.2mil) as of June 9 according to Forbes, would be richer by US$14.4mil (RM61.8mil), if those sales figures are to be believed!
