LaFerrari Aperta introduced

-

NAZA Italia, the local official Ferrari importer and distributor, has unveiled the open-top LaFerrari Aperta 70th Anniversary limited edition with only two units assigned to Malaysia.

At RM6.8mil per vehicle before taxes and duties and with only 209 units available worldwide, ownership of the limited edition Aperta (Italian for open) requires an invitation from Ferrari.

To help it distinguish itself, the side-skirt (just ahead of the rear wheels) bear a smaller version of the ‘Prancing Horse’ logo and is coupled next to the number ‘70’ that sits above the years ‘1947 2017’.

The hybrid supercar is predominantly encased in carbon fibre and is equipped with an Active Aerodynamics system while its mid-mounted 6,262cc 65-degree V12 engine (with a compression ratio of 13.5:1) produces 800hp and 700Nm of torque.

The engine is supplemented by a 163hp electric motor to bring its combined output to 963hp, while maximum torque has been estimated at over 900Nm.

Acceleration from 0-100kph takes less than 3.0 seconds before reaching a top speed of over 350kph.

A seven-speed dual clutch transmission manages output to the 20-inch rear wheels with 345/30 Pirelli P-Zero tyres that take on 59% of the car’s weight. The fronts use 19-inch wheels fitted with 265/30 Pirelli P-Zero tyres.

Carbon ceramic disc brakes from Brembo are found at all four corners with the fronts measuring 398mm in diameter and 380mm for the rear.

The suspension system is a common front double wishbone and rear multi-link setup.

In terms of electronic equipment, the limited edition LaFerrari Aperta comes with high performance anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, performance antilock system, electronic brake balance and electronic stability control.

There’s also the complex EF1Trac F1 electronic traction control integrated with the hybrid system, E-Diff 3 third-generation electronic differential and the SCM-E Frs Magnetorheological damping with twin solenoids (AlNi tube) among others.
