LaFer­rari Aperta in­tro­duced

NAZA Italia, the lo­cal of­fi­cial Fer­rari im­porter and distrib­u­tor, has un­veiled the open-top LaFer­rari Aperta 70th An­niver­sary lim­ited edi­tion with only two units as­signed to Malaysia.

At RM6.8mil per ve­hi­cle be­fore taxes and du­ties and with only 209 units avail­able world­wide, own­er­ship of the lim­ited edi­tion Aperta (Ital­ian for open) re­quires an in­vi­ta­tion from Fer­rari.

To help it dis­tin­guish it­self, the side-skirt (just ahead of the rear wheels) bear a smaller ver­sion of the ‘Pranc­ing Horse’ logo and is cou­pled next to the num­ber ‘70’ that sits above the years ‘1947 2017’.

The hy­brid su­per­car is pre­dom­i­nantly en­cased in car­bon fi­bre and is equipped with an Ac­tive Aero­dy­nam­ics sys­tem while its mid-mounted 6,262cc 65-de­gree V12 en­gine (with a com­pres­sion ra­tio of 13.5:1) pro­duces 800hp and 700Nm of torque.

The en­gine is sup­ple­mented by a 163hp elec­tric mo­tor to bring its com­bined out­put to 963hp, while max­i­mum torque has been es­ti­mated at over 900Nm.

Ac­cel­er­a­tion from 0-100kph takes less than 3.0 sec­onds be­fore reach­ing a top speed of over 350kph.

A seven-speed dual clutch trans­mis­sion man­ages out­put to the 20-inch rear wheels with 345/30 Pirelli P-Zero tyres that take on 59% of the car’s weight. The fronts use 19-inch wheels fit­ted with 265/30 Pirelli P-Zero tyres.

Car­bon ceramic disc brakes from Brembo are found at all four cor­ners with the fronts mea­sur­ing 398mm in di­am­e­ter and 380mm for the rear.

The suspension sys­tem is a com­mon front dou­ble wish­bone and rear multi-link setup.

In terms of elec­tronic equip­ment, the lim­ited edi­tion LaFer­rari Aperta comes with high per­for­mance anti-lock brak­ing sys­tem with elec­tronic brake­force dis­tri­bu­tion, per­for­mance an­tilock sys­tem, elec­tronic brake bal­ance and elec­tronic sta­bil­ity con­trol.

There’s also the com­plex EF1Trac F1 elec­tronic trac­tion con­trol in­te­grated with the hy­brid sys­tem, E-Diff 3 third-gen­er­a­tion elec­tronic dif­fer­en­tial and the SCM-E Frs Mag­ne­torhe­o­log­i­cal damp­ing with twin so­le­noids (AlNi tube) among oth­ers.
