New MSUri­ans take the pledge

MAN­AGE­MENT and Sci­ence Univer­sity (MSU) con­cluded its ori­en­ta­tion week re­cently with the oath-tak­ing of 2,000 new un­der­grad­u­ates.

Prof Tan Sri Datuk Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Ya­jid of­fi­ci­ated the event as ju­nior MSUri­ans of the 2017/2018 aca­demic ses­sion pledged re­spon­si­bil­ity and unity in hon­our­ing their man­date for learn­ing and dis­cov­ery.

The ju­nior MSUri­ans were led by Bach­e­lor in Hu­man Cap­i­tal Man­age­ment stu­dent, Muham­mad Harris Muham­mad Kamil, be­fore MSU’s se­nior man­age­ment and fac­ulty mem­bers.

In­still­ing the cul­tures of ex­cel­lence and one­ness of pur­pose in its young charges is an im­por­tant tra­di­tion of MSU.

Mean­ing­ful cer­e­mony

The oath-tak­ing cer­e­mony was im­por­tant and mean­ing­ful as it ac­knowl­edged the stu­dents as re­spon­si­ble “MSUri­ans”.

In his ad­dress, Prof Shukri re­minded the un­der­grad­u­ates to make full use of their op­por­tu­nity for higher ed­u­ca­tion by ex­celling in their cho­sen fields and equip­ping their per­sonal char­ac­ter­is­tics such as at­ti­tude, be­hav­iour, think­ing and creativ­ity.

He hoped Ori­en­ta­tion Week would prove ben­e­fi­cial for all stu­dents to un­der­stand each other bet­ter and be­gin a fruit­ful univer­sity life.

Prof Shukri also en­cour­aged their young minds to go forth and dis­cover, to learn the les­sons of ex­pe­ri­ence and to de­velop them­selves into global cit­i­zens through the MSU Global Mo­bil­ity (GMP), Global Lead­er­ship (GLP) and Global In­tern­ship (GIP) Pro­grammes.

In­still­ing the cul­tures of ex­cel­lence and one­ness of pur­pose in its young charges is an im­por­tant tra­di­tion of MSU.

The oath-tak­ing cer­e­mony or­gan­ised by MSU’s Stu­dent and Ca­reer Devel­op­ment (SCD) De­part­ment is tes­ta­ment to the univer­sity’s com­mit­ted and con­sis­tent devel­op­ment of qual­ity hu­man cap­i­tal.

As an ap­plied and en­ter­prise univer­sity, MSU of­fers pro­grammes of study at post­grad­u­ate, un­der­grad­u­ate and foun­da­tion lev­els through con­nected path­ways that ad­mit stu­dents from all walks of life and per­sonal back­grounds.
