A holistic learning experience
IN an evolving era of globalisation, change is present in every aspect of life. The world of legal practice is not an exception to this.
In the year 2009, digitalisation of selected courts in the nation was introduced through the “E-Court system”.
Currently at its second phase, the e-system will soon cover courts in Peninsular Malaysia and integrate 14 government agencies. The use of information technology in the legal practice is expected to boost the overall efficiency of the legal system.
For legal practitioners, this transition would mean providing timely yet quality legal services to their clients.
It would also facilitate legal firms to venture further into cross-border legal practice.
With such changes, ATC appreciates the importance of generating graduates who are not only book-smart but also industry-ready.
ATC also believes CLP students would have a more fulfilling and successful endeavour by raising above their LLB mode of study to experience the practice.
It is this transition in mindset that ATC seeks to emphasise in its CLP programme.
Throughout the academic year, ATC’s CLP students are encouraged to broaden skill sets and familiarise themselves to the legal practice; by participating in internal moot competitions, occasionally visiting the courts and related agencies and attending public lectures or talks relevant to their legal studies.
To kick-start the upcoming intakes of its CLP, LLB and A-Levels programmes, ATC Kuala Lumpur campus is organising the annual Legal Careers Fair on Aug 26.
This year’s fair will include Malaysian legal firms Shearn Delamore & Co, Zul Rafique & Partners, Raja Daryl and Loh, Izral Partnership and more.
Interested students will be able to meet and discuss possible career opportunities and internship or pupilage positions at their respective booths.
The event will also have recruitment representatives from corporate industries. Admission is free and open to all.
The event will provide guidance to legal graduates on how to make the best of their academic achievements and decide for themselves a suitable and meaningful career path.
ATC’s Legal Careers Fair will be preceded with a preview on its CLP course from noon to 2pm.
Registration for CLP programme in both its KL and Penang campuses is currently in progress.
ATC is one of the largest private law schools in the region and recently turned 30 years old. It offers pre-university qualification (Cambridge A-Levels), LLB degree programmes (University of London) and postgraduate Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) qualifications.
