The two-wheel wonder

- By Prableen Kaur Amerjit Singh, nine.

I LOVE my new two-wheeler, which is a wonderful birthday present from my parents.

It is blue in colour, with some green spots on the wheels.

Every evening, I will ride my bicycle around my house at Seremban 2, Seremban in Negri Sembilan.

I am now learning how to ride on a two-wheeler. Before this, I was riding a tricycle.

Both my parents have been patiently coaching me.

Even though I fell off my bike few times and have scratches on my hands and legs, I did not give up.

My father kept telling me, “Don’t lose hope, Princess. You’re doing great!”

I told my parents they were the best teachers I have ever had. They replied that I was a very good student.

Now, I can ride confidently. It is indeed fun to ride my bicycle.

Cycling is a healthy activity and promotes an active lifestyle. During my Geography lesson, I learnt that cycling can help to prevent pollution too. By cycling, we can contribute towards conserving nature and making the world a better place to live in.

I can also enjoy beautiful scenery while cycling and appreciate the greenery around me better.

Riding my new bicycle has been a really wonderful experience for me.

However, my parents often advise me to be careful and alert when cycling. Now, I am looking forward to participating in cycling activities.

I would like to win some competitions too. Someone once said, “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, keep moving!”

I am very thankful to my parents and God for making my dream come true – owning a bicycle and being able to ride it. –
