Tartan, plaid, gingham. The print is huge this season. It appears in everything from shirts and pants to dresses, as well as trench coats. Anything goes, really. Just look at the myriad of colours the pieces come in.

Shoulder to shoulder

In a nod to the 1980s, shoulder pads have made a comeback. The boxy silhouette appeared prominently all over the runways. That said, some of the designers kept it soft for a feminine feel.

Boy, oh boy

Structured and tailored designs are not just for men. Women get to dress up in double-breasted suits and tuxedos too – although these come with a much more effortless, “I’m cool” air to them.

Vibrant red is the colour of this year’s Autumn/Winter season. Designers were seen dressing their models from head to toe in the fiery shade. Even accessories like bags, shoes and earrings adhered to the colour theme.

Light and airy

Feathers appeared as embellishments that wowed. Whether as a skirt’s hem or on the bodice of a dress, it made designs look ethereal. It added voluminous texture as well, which helped play up a sense of imagination.
