Dilraba Dilmurat leads the cast of romantic tale, The King’s Woman.

GET lost in the new 48-episode Chinese historical fiction series, The King’s Woman, starring popular actress Dilraba Dilmurat. Based on the novel, The Legend Of Qin: Li Ji Story, the show centres on Gong Sun Li (Dilmurat), who is the granddaugh­ter and disciple of military commander Gong Sun Yu.

Sun Li and Jing Ke (Liu Chang) are longtime lovers. One day, the Qin Emperor’s army strikes. Jing Ke is poisoned while trying to protect Sun Li. In order to get the antidote, she allows herself to be captured and married to the Qin Emperor, Ying Zheng (Vin Zhang), who has pined after Sun Li for a long time.

The emperor discovers that his wife is pregnant, but with Jing Ke’s child. He decides to hide the truth and raise the child as his own. Gradually, Sun Li starts to see a kinder side to the emperor and falls for him. But what happens when Jing Ke storms into their lives one day and tries to assassinat­e the emperor?

New episodes of The King’s Woman premieres every Thursday to Saturday at 10pm on dimsum.

Dilmurat is currently enjoying her time in the spotlight, after starring in the fantasy romance drama, Eternal Love, and joining the hit variety show Keep Running (a spin-off of South Korea’s Running Man) this year.

She has a strong social media influence with over 20 million Weibo followers and has won accolades at the TV Drama Awards 2015 (Best New Actress), China Britain Film Festival 2016 (Best Young Actress), ENAwards 2016 (New Wave Artist) and IQiyi All-Star Carnival 2016 (New Generation Excellent Actress).
