SINCE its establishment in 1969, Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC) has carved a reputation for its academic excellence and holistic education, which is well recognised by industry and academia.

Since then, the university has educated over 180,000 graduates who have gone on to become professionals, captains of industries, national leaders and entrepreneurs.

TAR UC offers pre-university programmes such as foundation and A-Levels to give school-leavers a solid foundation to advance to undergraduate studies.

Its intensive one-year foundation programme is aimed at preparing students for TAR UC’s bachelor’s degree programmes.

The A Levels, on the other hand, is a one-and-a-half year pre-university programme that builds a foundation for students to advance to bachelor’s degree programmes in TAR UC or other universities worldwide.

Upon completion of either programme, students can proceed to enter Year One of TAR UC’s threeor four-year bachelor’s degree programme subject to meeting the minimum entry requirement.

There are close to 50 bachelor’s degree programmes offered which are highly regarded by industries for their academic rigour and high standards. Another pathway is through TAR UC’s diploma programmes for school-leavers who have a clear vision of what career they want to pursue.

TAR UC also offers over 50 specialised diploma programmes delivered by six faculties: the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, Faculty of Accountancy, Finance and Business, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Built Environment and Faculty of Social Science, Arts and Humanities.

The duration of the diploma programmes ranges from two to two and a half years.

Upon completing the diploma programme, students will be given credit transfer which will enable them to enter Year Two of the corresponding bachelor’s degree programme, thereby shortening the duration for them to complete their bachelor’s degree programme atTARUC.

Scholarships are available for qualified students on the basis of academic merit.
