TIBET stands at the pinnacle of the world – with its moniker as the “Roof of the World” – with its plateau standing at roughly 4,500m or more. With Golden Tourworld Travel (GTT), travellers or even pilgrims to this sacred landscape are taken on a journey, literally and spiritually.
Flying in from Kuala Lumpur, travellers will arrive at one of the ancient capitals of old China – Xi’an – where they will visit attractions such as the Xi’an City Wall, the Bell Tower Square and the Moslem Street.
They will then fly to Xining – the largest city on the Tibetan Plateau – to start their ascent up via train, to the capital of Tibet; Lhasa.
Along the way, this overnight train will pass through picturesque sceneries and breathtaking vistas as the terrain shifts from an elevation of 50m above sea level at Xining, to about more than 4,000m once they get to Lhasa.
The climb via the Qingzang Railway is slow, allowing the body to adjust to the elevation and thinness of air in the environment.
Travellers have the chance to capture the beauty and majesty of the landscape.
At Lhasa, some of the highlights include the Potala Palace, one-time residence of a line of Dalai Lamas, now a museum and a World Heritage Site and the Jokhang Temple.
There are visits to the Zaki Temple and Sera Monastery, one of the three main monasteries of Lhasa, and the largest man-made garden in Tibet; Norbulingka.
There will be a visit to Lake Yamdrok, the Karola Glacier and other neighbouring attractions, before proceeding to Shigatse for the Tashilhunpo Monastery, and the unique Tibetan mastiff.
This trip has 10D/9N with five days in Lhasa; the best time to travel is during April to October.
GTT has an 8D/6N trip to Harbin, the trip that will take visitors to Shenyang, Changchun and Jilin.
Travellers will like sights at the Siberian Tiger Park at Shenyang, the Museum of the Imperial Palace at Changchun, the Snow Village of Dunhua and admire the view of the village when it’s beautifully lit up at night.
There, guests can visit the Dream Home in Snow Town, where the marshmallow-shaped snow is akin to a magical scene from a storybook.
The highlight of trip will be the Snow Sculptures on Sun Island Park, where high-quality ice is collected from the Songhua River and carved into various shapes and objects by ice-carving professionals.
The Ice and Snow World tour is regarded as some of the world’s finest examples of ice art, a splendour to behold for travellers.

Among the sights to visit there include the Hailuoguo National Glacier Forest Park; the Bifengxia Panda Base; and the Anren Ancient Town, a famous historic and cultural town in Sichuan Province.
Travellers also will visit the snowcapped Xiling Snow Mountain, which has a peak of 5,364m above sea level and has different sceneries throughout the year.
There will also be a stop in the city of Chengdu and the surrounding attractions.
Another package to China includes an 8D/7N GuiZhou tour, which includes visits to the Tianxing Gallery at the Malinghe Canyon with its caves and waterfalls; behold the Huangguoshu Waterfall, the largest in Asia; as well as the strange karst peaks of Wanfenglin.
Dubai
GTT also has a separate 6D/4N trip to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, which entails visiting some of the spectacular expansive sights in that city.
From the 124-level observation deck of Burj Khalifah, the world’s tallest building, to visiting the largest mall in the world at Dubai Mall, and having a Lebanese-style dinner next to the world’s largest musical fountain and view of the luxurious Burj Al Arab hotel.
In Abu Dhabi, guests will get to see the Sheik Zayed Mosque and even sip gold-flaked coffee at the seven-star Emirates Palace hotel.
There are also Desert Safari rides and the Motiongate motion picture theme park at Dubai’s Parks.
