Asia’s Got Talent S2 PREMIERE AXN, Astro Ch 701/ D Ch 721, 8.30pm
Almost every region in the world has its own version of Got Talent, and now, Asian talents are also going to shoot to fame. Following a resounding first season in 2015, the series returns to bring out the best of the region. But the competition will be heating up as judges David Foster, Anggun and Jay Park will be joining the fray. Meanwhile, Alan Wong and Justin Bratton will be taking on host duties this season.

Fifteen-year-old aspiring figure skater Mattie Dane (Michaela Du Toit) has big dreams of turning her ice skating talent into a career. But when she suffers an injury during one of her tournaments, she is forced to the sidelines. And just when things look bad, it gets worse after her mother loses her job, and decides to relocate. With her dreams crashing down around her, Dane moves to the small town of Sudbury, where she lives with her aunt. But she quickly discovers a local ice skating rink managed by a former figure skater who may be her only hope of salvaging her ice skating future.

This is the first film of the Riddick film series in which the anti-hero is played by Vin Diesel. The plot begins with a crash landing involving a passenger spaceship, leaving only a handful of survivors including the dangerous criminal known as Riddick (Diesel). The survivors find themselves on a presumably empty desert planet. That is until they realise that the alien creatures living there only hunt in the dark. With supplies running low, and deadly creatures stalking their every move, the survivors must find a way off the planet before a total solar eclipse takes place.

Today, the die-hard foodie explores Omaha, Nebraska with three main courses, starting with a breakfast of an egg boat and hash browns. Then he moves on to chow down a homemade Reuben for lunch, and finishes off with ragu meatballs for a hearty dinner.
Jack The Giant Slayer TV3, Astro Ch 103/HyppTV Ch103, 10pm
We’re all familiar with the Jack and the Beanstalk fairy tale, but this film takes the story to greater heights (literally). Jack (Nicholas Hoult), a simple peasant is sent by his uncle to barter their horse in exchange for a thatch to repair the roof. However, the young boy only returns with a handful of “magical beans” given to him by a monk. Unimpressed, and most certainly disappointed, Jack’s uncle tosses the beans out the window, which grows into a huge beanstalk towering into the sky overnight. As Jack ventures into the clouds, he soon discovers that giants are more than just mythical creatures. Co-starring Ewan McGregor, Eleanor Tomlinson and Stanley Tucci.
